Vernéřovice combines a long-distance hiking trail that passes through the village with regional architecture and an insight into agriculture. Vernerovice is especially interesting when looking for a holiday apartment if you would like to include hiking, village history, or an organized farm visit in your stay. The attractions offer different highlights: the trail route and views sit alongside the Baroque church, preserved farmsteads, and Ekofarma Bošina.

Hiking and Cycling

The Stezka Českem long-distance hiking trail passes through Vernéřovice; the village is at kilometre 64 of the fifth section of the northern route. Near the primary school, a signpost bears a sign marked “Stezka Českem.” The section kilometre and the sign provide two specific reference points for locating the long-distance trail in the village.

A red-marked hiking trail leads to the upper end of Vernéřovice and continues across fields to Vernéřovická studánka. The route to the spring is 10 km long and has a low difficulty level. Meadows above the village lie along the marked route; from there, you can see the Broumovské stěny and the distinctive peak of Honský Špičák. As trail markings can change, check the current route before setting out.

Cycling is another way to explore the municipality: the “Za poklady Broumovska II” cycle route passes through the entire municipality of Vernéřovice. This gives you different ways to get around—a long-distance hiking trail through the village, a marked hiking trail to the spring, and a cycle route through the municipal area.

Church and Regional Architecture

The Baroque parish church Kostel sv. Michaela, archanděla stands on a hill in the middle of the village cemetery. It was built in 1719–1720, and its interior furnishings were completed in 1722. The construction of the church and the completion of its furnishings are therefore marked by different dates.

Along the route through Vernéřovice, you will also find preserved farmsteads and log houses representing regional vernacular architecture. Those interested in rural architecture will encounter not just one building, but several examples of this style along the way.

Insights into Agriculture

Ekofarma Bošina is located in the municipality of Vernéřovice, within the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area, and is open to the public. Organized tours are intended for adults. They offer insights into farm operations, meat processing, and animal husbandry. Booking arrangements for these visits may change, so check the current procedure in advance.

Meat and other agricultural products are available for purchase directly at the Ekofarma Bošina farm shop, without pre-ordering. As opening arrangements may change, check whether the farm shop is open before visiting. Depending on your interests, you can combine a farm visit with an insight into agriculture or a purchase of regional products.
