Nenadići lies in Šotovento, in the western hinterland of Krk. The area is flat and gently contoured; pastures, forests and olive groves shape the landscape. Village culture and cycling routes complement this rural character and offer various starting points for planning your trip.

Landscape and Village Culture

Šotovento is a naturally sheltered area. Around Nenadići, protection from the bora wind and south- and west-facing slopes have encouraged lush vegetation. The landscape thus combines open, gently contoured areas with forests and olive groves.

The traditional village layout is also part of the area’s character: the villages of Šotovento preserve their original clustered arrangement of stone houses. The area is associated with walks and bike rides through landscapes of authentic heritage. Nenadići is also part of the ethnographic zone of Poljica. A specific cultural landmark in the village is the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes (crkva Majke Božje Lurdske).

Cycling around Nenadići

An MTB route called “Krk – Dvori Sv. Jurja – Nenadići – Kosić – Krk” passes through Nenadići. In Šotovento, paved roads are available for recreational routes, alongside an extensive network of gravel tracks. The Kimpi cycling route connects gravel tracks with old cart roads and leads to villages in Šotovento. This gives you different types of paths and route options to consider when planning your rides. The surfaces vary: recreational routes run on paved roads, while Kimpi combines gravel tracks with old cart roads.

The nearby B-427 Putovima sedam sela is also a 32.9-kilometre road cycling route of moderate difficulty that follows existing paved roads. It reaches the junction with the D104 on the road that bypasses Nenadići and Žgaljići. For this route, the distance, surface and difficulty are specified; the MTB route is identified by its passage through Nenadići. If you plan to ride the B-427, check the route details before setting out.

Culinary highlights

A 2025 travel guide lists Konoba Oliva at Nenadići 27b and describes it as serving Croatian cuisine and vegetarian dishes. If you plan to visit the konoba on a particular day of your trip, check the latest information in advance. Nearby, Dvori Sv. Jurja is associated with olive oil tastings—a further culinary connection to Krk’s hinterland.

Continuing your journey via Valbiska

A state road through the Nenadići area leads to the Valbiska ferry port. From there, ferries connect Krk with Cres and Rab. If you plan to include a ferry crossing in your trip, it is worth checking the timetable before adding the connection to your plans. This allows you to consider the cycling and cultural landscape around Nenadići and onward travel via Valbiska as distinct priorities.
