Vrelo Koreničko combines a water-rich karst landscape with a long history of settlement. The village lies on the northern slopes of Mrsinj, above a karst field with abundant water that is prone to flooding. Gardens and orchards between the homesteads remain part of the cultural landscape. This gives your travel plans a distinctive focus: alongside natural features, traditional architecture and historical landmarks take centre stage. The village’s character can be explored through both its water-shaped surroundings and its cultural landscape.
Karst Spring and Evolved Landscape
Vrelo Koreničko is rich in water; its natural character includes a karst spring and the spring-area flora characteristic of the local catchment. The walled spring of the local water system dates back to 1888. Alongside its history of settlement, the village therefore offers a tangible nature theme shaped by karst, water and the plant life of the spring area.

The old school is a historic building in the settlement; the local cemetery is also among its historical features. Traditional mills and bučice are characteristic agricultural buildings. Above Vrelo Koreničko once stood the Prozor fortification, which guarded the passage between the fields of Koreničko and Homoljačko.
