Boden is considered a central starting point for numerous hikes and mountain tours. From here, hiking routes lead to Angerleboden, through the hamlets to Pfafflar, and to Hanauer Hut. In winter, the ski tour to Westliche Dremelscharte and the Boden–Hahntennjoch toboggan run offer additional activities. The routes differ in their destinations, courses, and specific trail features.

Hikes Along the Water and Through Hamlets

The hike from Boden to Angerleboden starts at Gasthof Bergheimat. It crosses the bridge over the Fundaisbach and follows the Angerlebach upstream to Angerleboden. The crossing of the Fundaisbach and the subsequent route along the Angerlebach give the trail a clear sequence of waypoints.

The Boden–Weiler Pfafflar circuit is another family-friendly option; both the starting point and destination are in Boden. It leads through several hamlets. Brandegg and Unterhaus are home to old, traditional wooden houses; via Ebele, the route eventually reaches Pfafflar. It is not just the destination that matters here: the hamlets and their traditional wooden houses are also part of the hike’s character. Compared with the route to Angerleboden, the focus here is on the hamlets and wooden architecture.

To Hanauer Hut and Through the Fundaistal

The hike from Boden to Hanauer Hut leads through the Angerletal; after about 2 hours and 15 minutes, it reaches the hut at an elevation of 1,922 metres. The Boden–Fundaistal–Hanauer Hut–Boden circuit starts and ends in Boden, is 15.06 kilometres long, and involves 1,118 metres of ascent. The recommended ascent leads through the secluded Fundaistal and past the Küblerwände and Fundaisplatten. For planning your day, different measures are therefore relevant: an approximate walking time for the hike to the hut, and distance plus ascent for the circuit. The routes also differ in their layout: one leads to Hanauer Hut, while the other is a circular hike starting and ending in Boden.

Winter in Boden: Ski Tour and Toboggan Run

The ski tour to Westliche Dremelscharte starts in Boden and passes Hanauer Hut. It involves around 1,000 metres of ascent; the upper section of the terrain faces north. Conditions vary by season. Another winter activity is the challenging Boden–Hahntennjoch toboggan run. It runs near the mountain village of Boden in a side valley of the Lech Valley and stretches for more than two kilometres from the mountain village of Pfafflar to Boden. Its winter operation depends on conditions; check before your visit.

If you are planning to use the toboggan run, take its condition-dependent winter operation into account.
