The parish church of “St. Nicholas” is dedicated to Saint Nicholas. It was first mentioned in a document in 1395 under the name “St. Nicholas in der Lesnik”. The history of the site goes back further: a Romanesque round church was built here in the 12th century, and its foundations were identified during excavations. Remains of frescoes from this round church survive in the chancel. They depict a Christ enthroned, along with figures of saints and animals. Bathing, Swimming and Fishing at the Recreation Pond
You can swim and bathe at the Lassnitz recreation pond. Fishing is also permitted there without a fishing licence. There is one clear restriction for caught fish: they must not be released back into the water. If you plan to fish at the pond, be sure to follow both rules. For a visit focused on bathing or swimming, however, the fishing rule is not a key planning consideration.
