The Reserva Natural Isla del Sol, the Capilla Oratorio Morante and Villa Constitución’s cultural offerings show different sides of the Departamento Constitución: wetlands and railway history, religious heritage, and urban cultural and leisure activities. The following places give you specific pointers to help tailor your trip to your interests.

Wetlands and railway history on Isla del Sol

The Reserva Natural Isla del Sol is a protected natural area in Villa Constitución, in the Departamento Constitución. Its natural value comes from its place within the Río Paraná wetland system and the diversity of its native flora and fauna. If you want to make nature the focus of your visit, you will find a distinctive theme here: protected landscapes, wetlands and native biodiversity.

The landscape also includes a historic railway branch. It is 1,800 meters long and forms an embankment built by the English in 1931. On Isla del Sol, therefore, a natural area and a tangible trace of railway history exist side by side.

Guided visits to the Reserva are aimed primarily at school groups, but are generally open to the public as well and are free of charge by prior arrangement. A municipal visitor information notice dated September 2, 2026, gives these conditions; arrange your visit in advance, as the arrangements may change.

Oratorio Morante: Camino Real and festival tradition

Oratorio Morante is a distinct locality in the Departamento Constitución. The Capilla Oratorio Morante was built in the 18th century and is part of the Camino Real. Villa Constitución’s tourist offerings also include a religious route featuring the historic Oratorio Morante. This makes religious history a distinct focus alongside the region’s natural and cultural attractions.

The Feast of Our Lady of Remedies takes place in Oratorio Morante on the second Sunday of every September. The program includes a Mass, a procession and a parade of traditional groups. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, confirm the details for the relevant year in advance; individual arrangements may change.

Access is via the Buenos Aires–Rosario highway at kilometer 245, followed by the road heading west from Villa Constitución to Melincué. The entrance is about 20 kilometers farther on. As this distance is approximate, check the route locally before setting out.

Culture and leisure in Villa Constitución

The Casa de la Cultura in Villa Constitución was declared part of the city’s cultural heritage on August 20, 2002. It offers workshops for children, young people and adults. The Paraná is also a distinct point of reference for the city: at buoy 366, Villa Constitución has river access.

The city’s leisure offerings include a public beach with free access and the Cilsa recreation area, which has a fitness trail. The Arroyo del Medio can also be explored for observation. The tourist offerings also include a railway museum and a railway promenade. These places and facilities offer different ways to enjoy a stay, from culture and connections to the river to recreation.

For rural-themed outings, Villa Constitución offers the routes “La Patria como Anfitrión, batallas de Pavón” and “Tierra de luchas Sociales, Grito de Alcorta.” Each name highlights a different aspect of history. These routes complement the city’s cultural and leisure offerings with named routes through the countryside.

Historical museums in several localities

A museum directory from 2006 lists the Museo Comunal de Alcorta in Alcorta as a historical municipal museum. For General Gelly, it lists the Museo de General Gelly as a historical, natural history and polythematic municipal museum. In Godoy, the Museo Local Godoy is listed as a historical municipal museum. For Rueda, the directory lists the Museo Ferroviario Escribano Alfredo Rueda as a historical and polythematic municipal museum. These entries provide historical context for the named collections but do not indicate their current visitor status.
