The following destinations are in the province or its surrounding area; they do not form a ready-made tour. First consider whether nature, activities on the water or culture should shape your stay, and focus your search on the relevant area.
Wetlands and river landscapes
Nearby is Parque Nacional Islas de Santa Fe. It encompasses eight river islands in the RĂo Paraná and protects more than 4,000 hectares of the Paraná Delta and Islands ecoregion. This area includes internationally significant wetlands. Jaaukanigás offers another perspective: 660 vertebrate species live in this wetland, including some endangered species. Its resources support sport fishing and ecotourism; both are important to regional development.
The northern and southern wetlands offer different highlights. In the north of the province, Laguna Añapiré is part of a system of saltwater lagoons. It welcomes thousands of flamingos each season; the precise timing of this seasonal occurrence may vary from year to year. Farther south, Laguna de Melincué is one of the most important wetlands in the province of Santa Fe. When choosing nature destinations, you can distinguish between a seasonal flamingo presence in the north and an important wetland in the south.
Fishing and kayaking on the Paraná
Camino de la Costa is a tourist corridor along Provincial Route No. 1. Sport fishing is highlighted as the main experience along this corridor. To plan a day of fishing, the Tourism Secretariat of the province of Santa Fe provides information and locations for licensed fishing guides. Check the guide listings before planning; they can help you organize a fishing day with safety in mind.
On a kayaking experience on the Paraná, guides first demonstrate kayaking techniques and explain safety rules. You can arrive via Rosario Islas Malvinas International Airport or by land, using a long-distance bus or private vehicle via National Route 9. Buenos Aires is 300 kilometers away. Check routes and connections before traveling, as transport services may change.
Museums, theaters and Jewish history
Rosario offers a wide-ranging cultural program: options include theater performances at El CĂrculo Theater, as well as museums covering history, fine arts, natural sciences, contemporary art, astronomy and decorative arts. Concerts, shows, events and festivals also take place there throughout the year. This means you can explore Rosario’s culture through individual institutions and venues as well as its diverse events program.
In the city of Santa Fe, the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes “Rosa Galisteo de RodrĂguez” has more than 3,000 works. MoisĂ©s Ville offers a different historical focus: the first Jewish colonies to arrive in Argentina were established in the province of Santa Fe; MoisĂ©s Ville is Argentina’s first organized Jewish colony. The Brener Synagogue in MoisĂ©s Ville was built in 1905.
Beer tradition in the city of Santa Fe
In the city of Santa Fe, beer became a tradition thanks to Swiss and German immigrants. This includes “liso”: unpasteurized draft beer served in a transparent 250-cubic-centimeter glass. Casa de la CervecerĂa complements this topic with a museum about the history of beer. Together, they bring a specific local drink and its cultural history into focus.
Choose the right focus for your stay
Rosario offers theaters, museums and events; the beer tradition and art museum are in the city of Santa Fe. Moisés Ville offers its own focus on Jewish history, while rivers and wetlands, along with fishing and kayaking experiences, provide other options. Base your choices on the places you actually want to visit rather than combining different destinations into a single route without checking first.
