Grapevine offers travelers several distinct ways to explore: a preserved historic district, traces of early local life, train rides, art and wine. To plan your visit, first decide whether you want to focus on architecture and history, a rail journey, or art and tastings. The places and activities below each offer a different perspective on Grapevine.

Historic Main Street and Early Grapevine

The Historic Main Street District is a preserved, historic area that is easy to explore on foot and centered around Main Street. The district also has venues for live entertainment. Historic character and stage performances come together in the same neighborhood, offering a different experience from visiting individual historic buildings and collections.

As a specialized collection, the Settlement to City Museums include 19th-century buildings that represent Grapevine’s unique history. Visitors can experience the everyday skills, crafts and traditions that shaped early Grapevine. The focus is therefore not just on the buildings, but also on everyday life at the time.

Nash Farm provides a specific point of reference in time: the farm includes its original farmhouse, built in 1869. Nash Farm also hosts educational events throughout the year and offers guided activities. Compared with the collection at the Settlement to City Museums, the focus here is on a specific farmhouse alongside the farm’s year-round program.

Train Rides and Trails

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad offers rides along the historic Cotton Belt Route in authentic 1920s railcars. This excursion combines the route’s historical significance with cars from a specific era. Another ride is the Santa's North Pole Express: a family-friendly seasonal excursion and the railroad’s annual signature event. If you plan to take this ride, check the event dates.

The Cottonbelt Trail also offers a specific point of reference for planning: a 2013 trail map lists its length as 2.78 miles. Trail details may have changed since then. The Grapevine Botanical Gardens offer tours for adults with a minimum of eight participants, led by volunteers from the Grapevine Garden Club. Since tour arrangements may change, it’s a good idea to confirm the details in advance.

Discover Art and Wine

The Grapevine Public Art Trail features bronze sculptures and murals. Along the trail, you’ll also find art galleries and studios where artists work. The offerings range from artworks to places where art is created. Art lovers can discover a variety of creative pursuits here.

The Urban Wine Trail offers a different focus. Visitors can taste a variety of wines and learn from knowledgeable winemakers. Tastings and expert insights are part of the same experience, offering a way to discover Grapevine through wine rather than architecture, art or train rides.

The Visitor Information Center provides information about local attractions and sells tickets and souvenirs. It can be a useful place to stop if you’d like information about attractions or want to buy tickets and souvenirs.
