The approximately one-mile-long, paved Laughlin Riverwalk is different from the 9-mile Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trail network: one is a walking path, while the other offers trails for cyclists, pedestrians and horseback riders. A few miles from the resort corridor, Grapevine Canyon is also a hiking area in the Spirit Mountains.
Along the Laughlin Riverwalk
The Riverwalk runs alongside Casino Drive next to the Hotel Corridor and offers direct access to water taxis. As service availability may vary, check current operations before making plans. The walking path and water taxi access are two different ways to include the corridor in your day’s plans.
Trails and Nature
In the Laughlin area, the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trail offers a 9-mile trail network for cyclists, pedestrians and horseback riders. The park also has accessible fishing areas for visitors of all abilities. Trail conditions can change; check them before your visit if they are important to your plans. The trail network is therefore a different option from the paved Riverwalk: cyclists and horseback riders, as well as pedestrians, are among its users.
Grapevine Canyon is a hiking area in the Spirit Mountains, a few miles from Laughlin’s resort corridor. If you’re looking for a named hiking area, it’s a distinct outdoor destination alongside the Greenway network. The two descriptions offer different reference points for planning, without describing the same place or trail.
River Cruises and On-the-Water Experiences
Laughlin River Tours offers daily, narrated 90-minute tours along the Colorado River. You can plan for the duration as a separate activity; since schedules may change, check current tour times in advance. Dinner cruises are also offered along the Laughlin Riverwalk, and their schedules may vary. Experiences aboard the Grand Celebration feature river views and gourmet dining. Availability and schedules may change; check these details separately if you plan to include this offering. The formats differ in focus: a narrated river cruise, a dinner cruise, or river views with gourmet dining.
History and Culture
Laughlin began in the 1940s as the South Pointe townsite for workers involved in building Davis Dam, as well as for miners from the surrounding area. Dam construction and mining are specific parts of the town’s history.
On the third floor of Don Laughlin’s Classic Car Collection, the 30,000-square-foot museum offers floor-to-ceiling views of the Colorado River. Wes Dufek created the Laughlin Labyrinths in 2011. They comprise eight labyrinths of different shapes and sizes, with diameters ranging from 24 feet to more than 60 feet.
The cultural attractions have different focal points: the town’s history traces its origins as a townsite, the museum offers river views, and the labyrinths vary in shape and scale.
