More than 1,200 ceramic objects spanning 150 years shape the private collection at the Stoneware Museum of Monmouth. Its regional character makes pottery a distinctive topic for travelers interested in pottery traditions.
Discover Pottery and Art
The collection represents Monmouth Mining & Manufacturing Company (3M), Monmouth Pottery, Weir Pottery, Western Stoneware Company, and Maple City Pottery. These five manufacturers provide concrete points of reference for the region’s pottery theme: rather than viewing pottery only in general terms, you can explore the collection through its different producers.
The Stoneware Museum of Monmouth is open Saturdays from April through October, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; visits are also available by appointment. Since operating details may change, check the hours before your visit.

History, Nature, and Infrastructure

LeSeur Nature Preserve covers 16.5 acres and was designed to serve the public as an educational and recreational area. At Citizens Lake, Campbell Bridge has been preserved as a pedestrian bridge. Together, these offer two distinct themes: a natural area intended for education and recreation, and the preservation of a pedestrian bridge.
Only electric trolling motors are allowed on Citizens Lake; gasoline-powered inboard and outboard motors may not be used. Check the rules before planning to use the lake, as they may change.
