A flight in an authentic Vietnam-era UH-1 Huey adds a distinctive touch: the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation offers these flights. It also offers flights in the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter, accompanied by experienced veteran pilots. The two flight offerings therefore differ by helicopter type; the Cobra flight also includes accompaniment by experienced veteran pilots. Dates and availability for both flight programs may change. Flight Offering and Museum Exhibit

The Veterans Museum at Heritage Park displays a restored Bell UH-1 Huey. This brings two different ways to experience aviation together: a flight offered by the Foundation and a restored helicopter on display as a museum exhibit. If you are interested in these aircraft, you can factor the contrast between an available flight and viewing an exhibit into your travel plans.

Harvest Seasons and Market Offerings

Southern Belle Farm is a 330-acre agricultural operation in McDonough. Its offerings follow the seasons: pick-your-own strawberries in spring, peaches, blackberries and blueberries in summer, and pumpkins in fall. If you are visiting for a specific product, keep in mind that availability depends on growing conditions. Both the time of your trip and harvest conditions therefore play a role in choosing when to visit.

The Farmer's Market offers a wider selection: local fruits and vegetables, baked goods, honey, plants, pet treats and handmade crafts. The range therefore goes beyond food. For 2026, the market was scheduled to run from June through August at the Jason T. Harper Arena in Heritage Park. If you are traveling in a later year, it is worth checking the dates in effect then.

Scenery and Nature Tours

Cubihatcha protects nearly 1,000 acres of forests, wetlands and natural habitats. This protected landscape offers a focus of its own alongside the aviation and technology themes.

The Cubihatcha Outdoor Center has a seven-mile loop trail along the Towaliga River. Its length gives you a concrete reference point for planning; trail conditions may change. The center also offers guided nature tours with an on-site naturalist. This gives you a choice between a clearly defined route and a guided nature experience. Tour availability may change.

Trains, Racetrack and Event

For railroad enthusiasts, the Locust Grove Train Watching Platform offers a front-row seat for watching more than 40 freight trains pass through town each day. The Locust Grove Train Watching Platform thus makes train watching itself a distinct experience.

EchoPark Speedway also offers guided track tours. If you are interested in motorsports, you can consider this tour offering as a focus of its own. Tour dates depend on track availability; check in advance which dates work for your trip.

Taste of Henry adds an annual event to the experiences: a dedicated volunteer team from A Friend's House organizes it every year. If you want to plan your trip around this event, factor the dates for the relevant year into your plans.
