Pully brings together literature, art and wine, with things to discover by Lake Geneva and in the forest. As a suburb of Lausanne to the east, the municipality lies on the lakeshore and at the foot of the Lavaux vineyards. Its territory stretches from Lake Geneva to the Jorat; Monts-de-Pully reaches an elevation of 806 m at its summit. This brings together distinct landscapes and cultural attractions in Pully.

Literature at La Muette

La Muette – espaces littéraires presents a monthly literary programme from September to June, with events, readings, performances and opportunities to meet. Check the specific dates before your trip. An audio-guided tour explores Ramuz’s writing place and the background to his work; the exhibition space covers around 100 m².

For school groups, a bookable programme combines a visit to Ramuz’s writing room with an independent literary walk and a writing workshop in Pully. Availability and eligible group types may change. Check in advance whether your preferred date and group qualify for the programme.

Art, history and ArchéoLab

The Musée d’art de Pully presents and promotes national visual art. ArchéoLab offers a different approach, with numerous activity stations, including puzzles involving the five senses, hands-on experiments, multimedia and games. Visitors interested in history and art can explore a range of topics in different ways.

Le Prieuré also reflects a change in use over time. It was originally the priory court of the Priory of Payerne; later, it served as a wine cellar and vineyard house. It retained this function under Bernese rule.

Forest trails and wildlife observation

The educational trail through the forests of Pully is 1.2 km long. A viewpoint along the trail is located on the former 300-metre shooting mound at the Volson shooting range and overlooks a nature reserve with five ponds. A viewing post is also open to the public at the shooting range’s biotope, along the educational trail.

The Vita-Parcours in the Pully forest is 1.8 km long. Based on the stated distances, it is 600 m longer than the educational trail. These two lengths allow for a direct comparison without needing to estimate how long it takes to walk them.

Another place to enjoy nature and views is Campagne Guillemin, on the outskirts of Lausanne. It has a deer park and children’s playgrounds, and offers lovely views of the lake and the Alps.

Wine tastings and regional excursions

At the Cave de Pully, you can taste and buy nine wines every Thursday from 5 to 8 pm: white, rosé, red, sweet and sparkling wines. Opening hours may change, so check them before your visit. Private tastings for groups of up to 30 people are available by arrangement.

From Pully, trains and CGN (Compagnie Générale de Navigation) boats offer trips to towns on Lake Geneva and wine-growing villages. If you are planning an excursion, check current routes and timetables before setting off.

Literature and wine have different schedules: the literary programme takes place monthly from September to June, while tastings at the Cave de Pully are held on Thursdays. If both are important to your trip, check the specific dates before booking accommodation.
