Goldern lies at 1,082 m above sea level and is one of four villages in Hasliberg’s inhabited area. A range of themes come together here for visitors: architectural history and village trails, a seasonally open pump track, the Hasliberg swimming lake, and a farm shop selling regional products. You can focus on what interests you—historical details, outdoor activities or a visit to the water.

Village Trails and Architectural History

The Hasliberg Village Trail is marked with brown signs; in Goldern, it marks the location of a former mill. The Goldern village tour offers another glimpse into the area’s history: this varied walk takes in old farmhouses and buildings of architectural interest. Conditions on the route may vary seasonally, so take this into account when planning your visit.

One specific example of the area’s architectural history is the substantial residential house No. 302, built in 1778. It is four rooms wide; its details include a decorative corbel band and finely carved floral bas-reliefs on the window lintels and jambs. The year it was built, its width and its decorative features make the house a tangible point of reference for anyone interested in architecture. The Hasliberg Church Path adds another aspect to local history: it was laid out in 1860 as a path from Goldern and Reuti to Meiringen. The year the house was built and the creation of the church path mark different facets of history—residential construction and the route between villages.

Forest, Activities and Planning

The short hikes on the Ursifluh circular trail mostly pass through forest and offer many viewpoints of the Bernese Alps. The forest and views provide a different focus from Goldern’s houses and historic trail markers. Winter access and temporary closures may vary depending on conditions; check the situation before your visit.

The Hasliberg pump track is located at the Grossenstein sports ground in 6085 Hasliberg Goldern. It is open daily from mid-April to the end of October, weather permitting. There is no parking at the pump track; visitors should use the car park at the Twing cable car station.

Swimming Lake and Other Reasons to Visit

The Hasliberg swimming lake offers swimming, sunbathing lawns and a slackline. There is a special sandy beach area for children. While the Ursifluh circular trail connects forest sections and viewpoints, the swimming lake is all about the water and places to relax. Four summer evenings with music are also held there in collaboration with the village commission and Haslital Tourism. Check the specific dates before planning your visit.

The 2025 municipal guide lists the farm shop run by Stéphanie and Hans von Bergen at Blatti 333f, 6085 Hasliberg Goldern, as open around the clock. Products listed include Hääggen Alpkäse AOP, seasonal Mutschli cheese, dried meat, meat and bread; product availability may vary seasonally. This makes the shop a convenient stop to complement the area’s excursions and cultural attractions.

The Ecole d’Humanité offers campus tours Monday to Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. by prior request. As times may change, ask in advance about your preferred date.
