Tibro has a long tradition of woodworking and furniture craftsmanship. It is also home to the history of furniture making at the Tibro Museum, a hands-on glass workshop and places to spend time outdoors. You can tailor your visit to your interests, choosing how much to focus on culture, nature and activity.

Furniture History and Glassblowing

The Tibro Museum traces the town’s development from small workshops to large-scale furniture production. The museum also houses an authentic workshop from the 1920s. If you are particularly interested in the history of craftsmanship, you will find both an overview of its development and a tangible example of a workshop here.

At Tibro Glasverkstad, located in the old railway station building, visitors can try glassblowing for themselves. Glassblowers guide them, and they can take their finished piece home. Alongside a look at furniture history, this offers a practical craft experience where you can get hands-on.

Walking Routes and Varied Landscapes

Hälsans stig is a 2.1-kilometre circular route that starts at the stage in Stadsparken. Its length makes for a manageable walk and offers a clearly defined option for spending time outdoors.

In the Tibro Gammelprästskog nature reserve, the landscape is shaped by a deep stream ravine, marshland and old, tall coniferous forest with thick trunks. This differs from the woodland paths at Prästberget, where you can walk through beautiful deciduous forest.

The Prästberget hiking trail starts and ends at the car park of Örlenbadet campsite. Rankås has geological traces from the Ice Age. Nature experiences range from a route of a set length and different woodland landscapes to geological features.

Green Spaces and Activities

Ånaplan is a centrally located green space in Tibro, beside National Road 49. It lies by the Tidan River, just west of Inredia, where parking is available. This large green space also has a playground and picnic areas.

Ånaplan has a free 18-hole disc golf course along the Tidan River. Tibro Actionpark is open 24 hours a day, all year round, and can be used with skateboards or bicycles. During the darker months, the lights stay on until 11 p.m. If you prefer a set course, disc golf offers a different kind of activity from skateboarding or cycling in the action park.

At Tibro Mini-Zoo, visitors can get close to the animals and experience a rural atmosphere. There is a barbecue area where visitors can grill food they have brought with them. This adds a practical option for a break with your own food to the animal encounters.
