By the shore and around Mjösjön

“Hälsans stig” is a wide, easy-to-walk path that follows the shoreline in Salsåker. The Salsåker village association maintains the path; visitors can park their car at Skatan. The shoreline route gives this option a clear focus on the water.

At the southern end of Mjösjön, hikers can walk a loop of about 1 km around the pond or extend the hike to Salsåker. After the forest path around Mjösjön, another choice comes at a trail junction: on the descent, hikers can reach “Hälsans stig” in Salsåker or continue on Världsarvsleden towards Hyndtjärn. This means choosing between two different things: the approximate length of the pond loop or extending it, and which direction to take at the junction. The Mjösjön loop goes around the pond; “Hälsans stig” follows the shoreline in Salsåker.
