Gislöv offers travellers several distinct points of interest: Gislövs kyrka and an exhibition dedicated to the Beatles each have their own cultural focus. Nearby, you’ll also find the Dalköpinge ängar nature reserve, a sandy coastline, and guest moorings and harbours in Gislövs läge. Cyclists can also follow the 25-kilometre Virestadsvarvet route through Gislövs By. Depending on your interests, you can explore church architecture, a private collection, coastal and wetland landscapes, or a specific cycling route.
Church and Beatles Exhibition
Gislövs kyrka is one of the oldest brick churches in Skåne. It was probably built in the late 12th century, although it may not have been built until the early 13th century. If you’re interested in historic churches and their architecture, it offers a clear cultural and historical focus in Gislöv.
Gislöv is also home to an exhibition dedicated to the Beatles. The exhibition’s private collection includes hundreds of records and 500–600 films. It offers a different focus from the church, with records and films taking centre stage instead of architectural history. If you’d like to visit the exhibition, please check in advance whether it is currently open to visitors.
Rivers, Wetlands and Coast
The two rivers have different geographical connections: Dalköpingeån flows through the village of Gislöv, while Gislövsån runs southwest and flows into the eastern part of the Dalköpinge ängar nature reserve. The nearby reserve was established in 1975 and expanded in 1976. Its open, grazed area includes around three hectares of wetland. This means you can use both a river running through the village and another river’s connection to the reserve as points of reference. Gislövsån has also undergone another change: just south of the coastal road, it was reshaped into a meandering watercourse between two residential areas.
The best way to reach Dalköpinge ängar is via the coastal trail between Dalabadet and Gislövs läge. Trail conditions may change, so check them before setting out. Gislövs strandmark is also nearby. Its coastline consists of sand with dune ridges. The wetland and coastal landscape therefore offer different nature experiences to consider when planning your trip.
There are guest moorings and harbours in Gislövs läge, near Gislöv. If you’re planning your trip around a mooring, check current availability in advance.
