Björköby Djurpark is on the edge of the village, not far from Riksväg 47; Glutenfria Fiket is right next door. Animal encounters and a café break are therefore close together. Other highlights include the illuminated running and training trail, the Nömmen bathing area and local history.

Animal encounters on the edge of the village

At Björköby Djurpark, visitors can feed and pet the miniature pigs Leif and Billy. Visitors can enter the enclosures of some of the other animals and pet them. Donkey rides are also occasionally available. As this activity is not available all the time, it is best to confirm before your trip whether it will be offered on your visit date. This way, you can plan your visit to the animal park realistically without assuming that donkey rides are always available.

Running, orienteering and bathing

For running and training, Björköby has an illuminated trail about 2.2 kilometres long. Veckans bana offers a different way to get active: new orienteering courses are set up around Björköby during the summer half of the year. There are four difficulty levels. The locations change weekly, and seasonal availability varies. If you have a particular course in mind, check its current location and whether it will be available during your visit before you travel.

If you would rather spend time at a bathing area than on a running trail, you’ll find Nömmen outside the village of Björköby. The beach is about 50 metres long and consists mainly of sand and grass.

Baked goods, dining and tastings

Glutenfria Fiket, next to Djurpark, serves homemade gluten- and lactose-free baked goods, including cakes, soft cakes and pies. The café is furnished in an old-fashioned farmhouse style. You can combine a visit to the animal park with a café break.

Hanna’s in Björköby offers restaurant meals and catering, prepared from scratch. There is seating for up to 120 guests. Various beverage tastings are also available, including beer and whisky tastings. Before you travel, check whether a tasting will be available on your visit date. The farm café Kaffeladan serves homemade treats. Its rustic, modern barn can be booked for parties, weddings and other special occasions.

Church, inscription and museums

Björkö kyrka was built between 1843 and 1847. Another historical trace is the Nömmestenen near Nömme in Björköby: the stone stands 25 metres from the road junction. Rolf lost three sons. His grandson Öper belongs to the third generation. Öper’s father was probably one of the three deceased brothers.
