Lake, cliff and natural surroundings

Uvaberget rises about 260 metres above sea level; the cliff face overlooking Lake Tenhultasjön is about 45 metres high. These figures refer to two different points of reference: the mountain’s elevation above sea level and the height of the cliff by the lake. This helps put the striking landscape around Lake Tenhultasjön into perspective.

On foot: different trails near Tenhult and Ingaryd

The surface of the Tenhultsleden varies by section: within the built-up area, the trail runs on asphalt; through the forest, it follows gravel paths, trails and boardwalks. There are steps on the slopes. You can start your hike at any point along the route, so there is no single designated starting point.

The starting point for the walking trail near Ingaryd is different: its two loop trails begin at the farm’s car park. You can choose between two loops there, while access to the Tenhultsleden is flexible. Outdoor swimming, fishing and exercise near Högalund

Tenhultsbadet is an outdoor swimming area on Lake Tenhultasjön, just south of the built-up area of Tenhult. Recreational fishing on the lake is another local option; it is managed by the Tenhultasjöns fiskevårdsområdesförening. If you want to fish, check the current permit details with the association in advance.

At the Högalund club facility, there is a 2.5-kilometre illuminated running trail, as well as fitness trails of 5 and 10 kilometres. The different distances let you choose a route length to suit you. Check the current trail conditions before setting out.

There is also an approximately 10-kilometre mountain biking trail in the forest above Högalund in Tenhult. It has varying levels of difficulty and is suitable for both experienced and less experienced riders. Its approximate length and varying demands are useful factors to consider when planning a bike ride; trail conditions may change.

Farm history in the northwest

The old Ingaryd Farm lies northwest of Tenhult; its origins date back to the 1570s. It served as a post station, inn and courthouse. These three former functions reflect the farm’s varied roles, without reducing them to a single type of visitor experience.

At Tenhult’s northwestern edge, the Rogberga local heritage farm is situated by the old Rv 31. The first building erected on its grounds was Logen. Ingaryd and Rogberga therefore each offer their own historical point of interest in the northwest of the area.
