Stöllet lies on the eastern bank of the Klarälven. Water, fishing and nature offer different focuses for your stay: Korvsjön is nearby, timber rafting trips start at the Vildmark i Värmland campsite, and a protected ancient woodland lies northeast of the village. The historical heritage of Norra Ny adds another dimension. You can choose between riverside activities, nature and history for your trip.

Korvsjön and fishing

Korvsjön is a river bend separated from the Klarälven, is part of the Klarälven and is a popular fishing lake. Norra Ny FVOF lists it among its fishing waters. The lake therefore brings together two distinctive features of the area: its origin as a river bend and its importance for fishing. Fishing permits for the waters managed by Norra Ny FVOF are available through iFiske.se.

An ancient woodland northeast of Stöllet

The Fänstjärnsskogen Nature Reserve lies about 6 kilometres northeast of Stöllet. It protects an almost untouched ancient woodland, where a 600-year-old pine tree stands. This gives the forest a different focus from the waterscapes of the Klarälven and Korvsjön: here, the emphasis is on a protected natural area and one particularly old tree. Its approximate location northeast of the village helps you factor this nature experience into your travel plans.

Timber rafting or an independent river trip

The Vildmark i Värmland campsite in Stöllet is a starting point for timber rafting trips along the Klarälven. With the one-day package, participants receive an introduction by the river and build their own timber raft. The trip includes the route to the destination; there, the raft is dismantled and the equipment returned. Building the raft and rafting down the river are therefore both part of this one-day experience.

Another option is an independent trip from Stöllet along the Klarälven. It is possible when the Klarälvens Camping reception is staffed and canoes or sit-on-top kayaks are available. Check in advance that both conditions are met. Unlike the timber rafting package, this trip depends specifically on the reception being staffed and a boat being available.

Historical heritage in Norra Ny

Valborgsgården, a local heritage museum and historic farmhouse in Norra Ny, is located in Ljusnäs. The main building dates back to at least the 17th century; Valborgsgården was inhabited until the 1940s. Its building history therefore reaches far back, while people continued to live there into the 20th century.

A sculpture of Saint Olav also recalls the time when pilgrims passed through here on their way to his grave in Trondheim. It adds another historical connection to the building and residential history of Valborgsgården.
