Infiesto makes planning a trip to Piloña more concrete: here you can combine a collection of historic clocks and prehistoric finds with riverside trails and views from Monte Cayón. Festivals with different themes are also held throughout the year. This makes it easy to plan around whether you want to focus on culture, scenery or a particular event date.
Getting there and finding your way
Infiesto has a railway stop operated by Renfe on the C-1 commuter line. Regular services run from Oviedo, Gijón and Santander. ALSA also operates bus services to Infiesto from Oviedo, Gijón and other places in Asturias, with frequent services throughout the day. Check the latest departures before travelling, as timetables and services may change. The Piloña tourist information office is at C. Covadonga 11, 33530 Infiesto, Asturias. Confirm its opening hours before your trip.
When looking for accommodation, consider how you will get there and the places you plan to visit together. Infiesto is a useful reference point for rail, bus and cultural visits; each of the trails described has its own starting and finishing points. So plan each day around the places you actually want to visit, and check current transport connections and trail conditions.
Clocks, finds and historic sites
The Casa del Tiempo houses more than a hundred clocks and five hundred pieces from different eras and countries. The same building contains the permanent exhibition “Los trece del Sidrón,” featuring prehistoric finds from the Cueva del Sidrón. These offer two distinct perspectives: a collection notable for its breadth across time and countries, and an exhibition of archaeological finds. If you are interested in history, you can include both in your plans.
The Ruta de Casonas also offers a point of interest: it lists Casa Cobián (El Prial) as a stop in Infiesto. The route highlights the area’s architectural heritage; access to individual buildings may vary. The Santuario de la Virgen de la Cueva stands in Infiesto on the banks of the river of the same name. Written records date back to the 16th century, and the site includes a large recreational area.
Trails and scenery
Near Infiesto, a trail runs from the Área Recreativa de La Cueva and the Santuario de La Cueva along the Río de La Marea to Peridiella. The route is about three kilometres long one way; trail conditions may change. The Área Recreativa de La Cueva is set in a natural landscape with extensive meadows along the Río de La Marea.
There are other specific options for cycling and walking: a walking and cycling path connects L’Infiestu with Espinaréu and was documented as completed in July 2026. The Piloña Sur route begins at Plaza del Ganado in L’Infiestu and continues east along Calle Covadonga towards Cardes; temporary trail conditions may affect the route. From Monte Cayón, you can enjoy views over the municipality of Piloña, the Sierra del Sueve and the Picos de Europa. The trail to the Monte Cayón recreational area leads from the entrance to Infiesto via Biedes and Argandenes. Check the signs on site.
Festivals throughout the year
The annual Feria de primavera takes place in Infiesto in April, and the Fiestas de San Antonio in August. For both dates, it is worth checking the current year’s programme. The Festival de la Avellana in Infiesto combines a traditional market, where visitors can sample local produce, with exhibitions of local crafts. The celebrations conclude with verbenas: public evening events with music and dancing. The programme may vary from one edition to the next. So if you want to plan your trip around a festival, check the details for the relevant year.
