Anleo offers a variety of ways to enjoy a stay: historic architecture, a circular route and outdoor leisure activities. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can decide whether culture, exercise or summer swimming should shape your travel plans.

Palace and Church: Anleo’s Architectural History

The Palacio de Anleo is an 18th-century building classified as a historic and artistic monument. Its complex comprises three towers and two building sections extending in an east-west and north-south direction. The western tower, known as the “Torre Vieja,” was probably built in the 13th century; a loophole and openings topped by lintels have been preserved there. A loophole is a narrow opening; a lintel forms the upper edge of an opening. The building therefore offers two ways to understand its architectural history: the layout of the complex as a whole and the details of the western tower.

The Iglesia San Miguel de Anleo can also be described through its clear forms: it has a rectangular floor plan, three naves, a choir with a flat end and a square tower. The three naves divide the interior, while the choir and tower add distinct, geometrically identifiable forms. The church also houses a 19th-century ivory Christ of Philippine origin. This brings architecture and an individual work of art together: the church is characterised by its floor plan and structural elements, and the Christ by its material, age and origin.

Circular Route, Forest and Outdoor Pools

The Ruta de La Pistola starts in the village of Anleo and returns to Anleo. It is therefore a circular route that begins and ends in the same village—a useful point of reference when planning your day. Route conditions may vary by season; check the latest conditions before setting off.

The Santa Lucía recreation area is a pine forest on a hillside, facing southeast. It includes a flat area suitable for various games. The area thus combines two distinct features: the forest’s location and orientation, and a usable space for games. The Ruta de La Pistola returns to Anleo, while Santa Lucía offers space for various games.

The outdoor pools in Anleo comprise one large and one small pool, as well as extensive green areas; they are open in summer. If you want to include swimming in your plans, confirm the latest opening information before scheduling a day at the pool.

Mercado Tradicional de Anleo

The Mercado Tradicional de Anleo 2025 featured craft demonstrations and tastings of typical products. These two programme items offer a specific insight into the connection between crafts and cuisine at that edition. The demonstrations and tastings refer to the 2025 edition; if you are planning to visit the market, check the dates for your travel period.
