Playa de Aguadulce has a distinct coastal focus: the city beach is 1,900 metres long, with a promenade running along its entire length. Other perspectives include the Paseo Marítimo, with designated uses for walking, hiking and cycling, the Puerta Verde de Roquetas de Mar and Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce. There is also a public park in the centre, as well as local connections to festivals and to the spring that gave Aguadulce its name. This gives you different ways to explore the town when planning your trip: the beach, outdoor activities, the harbour and local history each offer their own focus.
Beach, Promenade and Paseo Marítimo
The beach length and the route length are two different measurements: Playa de Aguadulce is 1,900 metres long, while the Paseo Marítimo is a two-kilometre route. It runs continuously along the beach, linking the marina with the town’s main beach. The Paseo is also suitable for walking, hiking and cycling. The beach promenade runs along the entire length of Playa de Aguadulce. This means the length of the city beach and that of the named Paseo are given separately, as they do not refer to the same measurement. The beach also has a designated area adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Routes and Views
Another route is the Puerta Verde de Roquetas de Mar. It connects Roquetas de Mar with the Urbanización de Aguadulce via the Cañada Real de la Costa and is 1.91 kilometres long. The route is intended for non-motorised traffic, as well as cyclists, hikers, horse riders and livestock. So, in addition to cycling and hiking, it is also designated for horse riding and livestock. Surface and access conditions may change; check them before setting out. From the Puerta Verde viewpoint, you can see the tips of the seagrass meadows that form the Posidonia Reef Natural Monument. Whether they are visible depends on the weather and sea conditions.
Marina and Festival Days
Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce offers a wide range of water sports and a large selection of restaurants. At Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce, you will find both a wide range of water sports and a large selection of restaurants.
The patron-saint festivals in honour of the Virgen del Carmen also feature in the local festival calendar. They take place in the first half of July, specifically from 13 to 16 July. The maritime and land procession follows a route that starts at Puerto Deportivo Aguadulce, continues to Puerto Deportivo de Roquetas de Mar and returns to its starting point. The programme for the festival days from 14 to 16 July 2026 included children’s parties, workshops and beach sports such as beach football, beach tennis and beach volleyball. These dates provide a specific example of that festival year.
Park and Local History
The public Parque Público Municipal Andrés Segovia is in the centre of Aguadulce. Its grounds cover about two hectares and include a walking path and two children’s areas. If any of these facilities are important for your visit, check the current situation beforehand, as individual offerings may change.
The Fuente de Aguadulce offers another connection to the town. It is a local item of ethnological heritage associated with the spring that gave Aguadulce its name. The Fuente no longer flows today. Along with the public park, this historical connection complements the coastal and route-related themes with a specific element of local history.
