Songdo Central Park brings Incheon's connection to water to life: an artificial waterway 1.8 kilometers long and up to 110 meters wide runs through South Korea's first seawater park. The park covers a total area of about 370,000 square meters. Water taxis, boats, and kayaks are available as water sports activities at the eastern and western boathouses. This means the same park centers on both its landscaped waterscape and a variety of activities on the water—a distinctive feature alongside Incheon's historic districts. At 1.8 kilometers long, the waterway is significantly longer than its width of up to 110 meters.

Harbor and Chinese History

Incheon's Chinatown took shape after the port opened and the area was designated an extraterritorial zone of the Qing government. The Korea-China Cultural Center presents exhibitions on China's society, economy, and culture. The neighborhood's culinary side can also be linked to specific names: typical dishes include jjajangmyeon, gonggal-ppang, and mooncakes. Together, its history, exhibitions, and food offer visitors to Chinatown several points of cultural interest.

Explore the Open Port District on Foot

The Open Port District invites visitors to explore Incheon's modern history on foot. The Incheon Open Port Nuri-gil provides a specific route for this: it has operated as a cultural tourism walking trail since 2006. It includes three walking routes around Incheon Station and passes through the historic Open Port District. The three routes offer different ways to take a walk focused on this historical theme; check route information before your visit.

Green Spaces and Leisure Activities

Incheon Grand Park is a large urban green space with a wide lake at its center and is considered Incheon's largest park. This gives it a different character from the waterway in Songdo Central Park: here, the expansive park and central lake define the landscape. Visitors considering both waterside areas and green spaces when choosing places to visit will find different landscape features in the two parks.

Wolmi Theme Park offers a variety of rides and is suitable for leisure and family outings. The availability of individual rides may change. Wolmi Culture Street offers a different kind of experience: it is reserved for pedestrians outside the hours when vehicles are permitted to enter. Street portrait artists and benches for resting are also part of what it offers. In this way, rides and a street with room to walk and linger provide different leisure options.
