The “Pot z razgledom” is a marked circular trail through unspoiled forest and several gorges with clear water. It starts at Kmetija Lojz at Fužine 10 and leads from Fužine to the Hrastov grič hut at an elevation of 827 m. From there, the view takes in part of the Poljanska Valley, as well as the Julian Alps and the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.

The hiking route also leads to Kmetija Pr' Mrovl at Fužine 21, where a holly tree (Ilex aquifolium) grows. The landscape changes with the seasons. Trail conditions can also vary; vegetation and weather affect the view from Hrastov grič. These are practical differences: the trail offers several landscape features, while the view from the lookout depends on current conditions.

The fortress and local history

The fortress on Hrastov grič is the largest underground fortress in the Rupnik Line defensive system. Underground galleries lead to three unfinished combat blocks. Entry is permitted only with a guide; arrange a guided visit before you go.

The Pr' Gladk house in Fužine has an entrance portal bearing the year 1824. The origin of the place name also points to local history: Fužine was named after local iron ore mining and ironmaking activities. The portal and the name’s origin offer two different connections to local history: a specific architectural detail and a link to ironworking.

Cycling in stages

The municipal cycling circuit of Gorenja Vas–Poljane passes through Fužine on its third stage. Overall, it is divided into three stages with subsections, each of which can be completed independently. This stage-based structure distinguishes the cycling circuit from the marked “Pot z razgledom”: the cycling circuit lets you include Fužine as part of a multi-stage tour, while the hiking route is described as a single circular trail with a named starting point and specific landscape features.
