The Centro de Interpretação Templário de Almourol is the first centre of its kind in Portugal. The combination of exhibitions, multimedia and a virtual experience offers a different focus from the contemporary art in the sculpture park.
The town’s history also has different facets. The Igreja da Atalaia is located within the municipality of Vila Nova da Barquinha; its Renaissance portal is attributed to João de Ruão. The Centro Integrado de Educação em Ciências is located at Rua D. Maria II, 2260-434 Vila Nova da Barquinha.
