For choosing between a short walk and a longer tour, Labes offers two clearly different options: two Nordic walking routes of 2.8 and 4.5 kilometers start at Polana Jahna, while the blue-marked Szlak Mocy i Tradycji is 43 kilometers long. There is also architectural and engineering history. The shorter routes start at Polana Jahna, while the long hiking trail begins and ends in the square in front of the railway station in Łobez. This lets you plan your trip around walking time, distance, and thematic interests.

Getting to the municipality

The Szczecin–Gdańsk railway line and the Gorzów Wielkopolski–Kołobrzeg road connection run through the Gmina Łobez. These offer two different points of reference for your journey: a named railway line and a named road connection. Which one suits your trip depends on your starting point and how you are traveling. Before setting out, check the relevant train connection or road conditions for your travel date.

Two Nordic walking routes at Polana Jahna

Both Nordic walking routes start at Polana Jahna in Łobez. Route 1 is 4.5 kilometers long and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. At 2.8 kilometers and approximately 45 minutes, Route 2 is the shorter option. The stated walking times differ by around 25 minutes, and the routes also differ in length by 1.7 kilometers. This makes the two options easy to compare: Route 2 takes less than an hour to walk, while Route 1 covers the longer distance. Allow extra time for getting to the starting point and for your own breaks.

Szlak Mocy i Tradycji: 43 kilometers through varied landscapes

The blue-marked Szlak Mocy i Tradycji begins and ends in the square in front of the railway station in Łobez. It passes through the Wysoczyzna Łobeska and Równina Nowogardzka regions, as well as the municipalities of Łobez and Resko. The landscapes along the route include fields, mixed forests, hills, valleys, and wetlands. The trail crosses the Rega several times and repeatedly runs close to the river. This makes it a different kind of hike from the shorter Nordic walking routes: as well as its length, its course is shaped by several distinct landscapes and its recurring proximity to the river.

Church architecture and engineering heritage

The church in Bonin was built by Luis von Borcke in 1845. Its tower has a Baroque cupola dating from the 18th century; its furnishings include a Mannerist altar from the 17th century and a Baroque pulpit from the 18th century. The building and its furnishings therefore reflect different centuries. Another cultural highlight is the Szlak Dziedzictwa Techniki i Architektury cycling trail. It was created to showcase local architectural and engineering heritage from the 19th and 20th centuries. The church offers a specific focus on a single building and its furnishings, while the cycling trail explores the broader themes of engineering and architecture.

Plan your stay around your interests

The stated Nordic walking times offer a concrete guide to shorter routes, while the 43-kilometer trail provides a different scale for planning a hike. Those interested in culture can make the church in Bonin and the themed cycling trail the focus of their visit.
