Beach views, two distinctive avenues and a narrow-gauge railway through Rewal give visitors several specific reasons to visit. At the centre is a modern viewing platform with beach access; the avenues offer different features, including a Romeo and Juliet bench, thuja trees and roses. At the fishing harbour, a sculpture recalls Rewal’s character as a fishing settlement. When planning, it is worth considering these themes separately: views, walks and local history are distinct highlights, while the railway and bicycles offer ways to travel between places.
Beach Views in the Centre
The modern viewing platform with beach access was built in 2009 in the centre of Rewal. From it, you can look out over the beach; access to the beach is also part of the site. This makes it a place that combines beach views with beach access. The platform is especially popular at sunset. If you would like to take in the beach views at that time of day, you can set aside time for it as a separate activity. This gives your visit a clear focus in time, while the avenues offer other reasons to go for a walk.
Two Avenues, Two Walking Destinations
Aleja Zakochanych (Lovers’ Avenue) is a paved walking path with a Romeo and Juliet bench; rows of evergreen thuja trees line both sides. Aleja Różana (Rose Avenue) runs at a right angle to it and is home to several hundred varieties of roses. These are two distinct walking destinations to consider when planning your visit: the right-angle layout provides a point of reference, while each avenue has its own distinctive character. Their different designs can help you choose between a promenade with a bench and thuja trees, and a destination featuring roses.
Fishing Heritage at the Harbour
On Saperska Street near the fishing harbour, a sculpture of a fisherman recalls that Rewal was and remains a fishing settlement. The motif explicitly connects the town’s past and present. If you would like to include Rewal’s local identity in your stay alongside the beach and walking paths, the sculpture offers a specific point of interest. It adds a different focus to the views and avenues: here, the emphasis is on the history of the fishing settlement, rather than the design of a path or the view of the beach.
Train and Bicycle Travel Between Places
The Nadmorska Kolej Wąskotorowa (Coastal Narrow-Gauge Railway) runs regularly from Gryfice via Trzęsacz, Rewal and Niechorze to Pogorzelica. Rewal is therefore on a route connecting several places. Check the current timetable before travelling, as specific departure times may change. The Rewal Bike System offers another way to plan your journey: you can rent a bicycle in one place and return it in another place within the rental network. The options require different planning: for the train, you need to consider the route and timetable; with a bicycle, the pick-up and return locations can be different, as long as both are within the network.
