Dzwierzuty offers several distinct points of interest for planning a trip: a Neo-Gothic church, a cycling route along the embankment of a former railway line, parks and a public beach on Sasek Wielki. If you are looking for a hotel in Dzwierzuty, you can first consider whether architectural history, cycling, visits to parks and the beach, or a concert will shape your stay.

Churches and architectural history

The Roman Catholic Trinity Church in Dzwierzuty was built in the Neo-Gothic style between 1880 and 1884. Neo-Gothic architecture draws on forms from medieval Gothic, bringing a late 19th-century architectural style together with an older furnishing element: the oldest item in the church’s furnishings is a Baroque cross. This offers two perspectives on the same building across time: its construction period and its furnishings. There is also a 17th-century rectory next to the Protestant church. It provides a distinctly earlier historical reference point and belongs to a different church.

Cycling along the former railway line

The “Rowerem po Kolei” route reaches Dzwierzuty via a paved cycle path built along the embankment of a former railway line. Here, the former railway line is both the basis for the cycling route and a clear historical point of reference for cycling. Before entering Dzwierzuty, a stylish former railway station building stands alongside the cycle route. The route also passes the former station grounds, where platform remains are visible. The building and remains make the railway connection apparent not just in the route’s name, but along its course as well. In Dzwierzuty, the municipality’s first Miejsce Obsługi Rowerzystów, a service point for cyclists, is located at an intersection with a county road. This means that both a specific cycling route and a named municipal point of contact are part of the local cycling experience.

Parks and a beach on Sasek Wielki

Central Park has an amphitheatre, a fountain and a children’s playground. The public beach on Lake Sasek Wielki is at the edge of the village on the road towards Pasym. This gives you a choice between a park with several named facilities and a lakeside beach as distinct places for leisure. Oponarium Park is also located in the municipal forest, while Terapeutyczny Park is on National Road 57. These location details distinguish the two parks by where they are situated. Together with Central Park and the beach, they broaden the range of options beyond architectural history and the cycling route.

Concerts and trip planning

Through the 2024 edition, concerts for organ and chamber music had been held in Dzwierzuty since 2009 as part of the international Pasym-DĹşwierzuty Concerts. Music therefore provides another cultural focus alongside the buildings and former railway line. If you would like to plan your trip around a concert, check the dates for your travel period. This will help you choose your destination based on the themes that matter most to you.
