In Łukta, the main attractions are a Gothic church dating from the early 15th century and several circular cycling routes of varying lengths and characteristics. You can tailor your stay to culture, cycling or the nature reserves within the municipality.

Gothic church with a Baroque tower

The Kościół Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej church in Łukta was built in the early 15th century in the Gothic style. Red brick and fieldstone define the building. The square Baroque tower has a wooden upper section; its weather vane bears the year 1816. Inside, there is also a Late Renaissance altar in the form of a cabinet altarpiece, or cabinet triptych. The Gothic architecture, Baroque tower design and Late Renaissance altar offer distinct points of interest in the church's art history.

Circular cycling routes by length and character

For a shorter loop, you can choose Cycling Route No. 1: it is 10 km long and runs from Łukta via Woliny and Wynki, returning to the starting point. Cycling Route No. 2 also starts and ends in Łukta, covers 15.5 km and additionally passes through Dąg, Plichta and Tabórz. Both are circular routes; the stated distance is a simple first point of comparison when choosing a route.

Among the longer loops, the yellow cycling route covers 24.5 km and runs mostly through forest. It passes through Komorowo, Pelnik, Łęguty, Grazymy and Wynki, crosses the Pasłęka River four times and goes by two developed bathing areas. The availability of the bathing areas may vary by season.

The green loop is 27.9 km long and passes through Dragolice, Florczaki, Nowaczyzna, Swojki, Żabi Róg, Gubity, Kozia Góra, Gucin and Kolonia Mostkowo. Much of the route offers scenic views; several steep climbs and descents are also part of its profile. The section between Łukta and Żabi Róg runs exclusively along safe unpaved paths. This makes it quite different from the yellow route, whose description highlights forest, river crossings and bathing areas.

The blue route is 27.3 km long and passes through Molza, Dąg, Plichta, Tabórz, Niedźwiady, Białka Leśna, Florczaki Kolonia and Ramoty before returning to Łukta. It connects Łukta with the Sosny Taborskie and Jezioro Długie nature reserves. Along the way, it passes a bathing area on Lake Gil and, near Ramoty, a bathing area on Lake Marąg. Seasonal availability may also vary at these bathing areas. When choosing between the longer loops, you can therefore choose between different features: forest and river crossings on the yellow route, steep climbs on the green route, and links to protected areas on the blue route.

Nature destinations in the municipality

The Sosny Taborskie nature reserve is located within the municipality of Łukta. There, a nature trail winds among the oldest, most beautiful and most characteristic trees. It is intended for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as adults and children. The Jezioro Długie nature reserve protects a well-preserved population of the relict species quillwort in Lake Długie. The two reserves have different focuses: Sosny Taborskie features a nature trail among the trees, while Jezioro Długie is known for its protected plant population.
