Bogaczewo offers practical starting points for planning a trip by the water, along routes and through local history. Leśna Keja is located at the point where Jezioro Boczne meets Jezioro Niegocin; several named routes pass through the village. There is also the site of a former hillfort and an archaeological find from Bogaczewo. This makes it possible to choose where to stay based on whether you want to plan around the water, a route of a specific length or local history.

Leśna Keja and historic traces

Leśna Keja in Bogaczewo is a quay, harbor and landing place at the point where Jezioro Boczne meets Jezioro Niegocin. This makes it a clearly identified focal point for a waterside stay. If you want to use specific services, check their current availability directly with the operator.

The site of the former hillfort lies on Jezioro Boczne, near Kanał Kula, on a small rise. The hillfort is home to a former Protestant cemetery; in the literature, the site is called “Ringberg” (Okrągła Góra).

Another historic trace is a find from Bogaczewo: a silver garment clasp from Gaul decorated with cloisonné enamel. Both the former hillfort site and this specific archaeological find are part of the village’s history.

Cycling routes and distances

Three described routes pass through Bogaczewo. Two are explicitly identified as cycling routes; the third is the Niegocińska Route.

The 2024–2027 municipal heritage conservation program lists a 69-kilometer red cycling route from Giżycko to Święta Lipka. The route runs through Wilkasy, Bogaczewo, Gorazdowo, Staropole, Monetki, Stara Rudówka, Ryn, Knis, Salpik, Nakomiady, Owczarnia, Kwidzyna, Gierłoż and Kętrzyn.

The same program lists the 41-kilometer green cycling route from Giżycko via Bogaczewo and Kanał Kula to Rydzewo, Przykop, Miłki, Lipińskie, Szczepanki and Wydminy. An additional section via Sołtmany, Żywki, Kruklin and Grądy Kruklaneckie covers a further 20 kilometers.

Also listed is the 32-kilometer Niegocińska Route. It runs from Giżycko via Bystry, Ruda, Rydzewo, Bogaczewo, Strzelce and Wilkasy, returning to Giżycko.

There are three distinct distances to consider when choosing a route: 32 kilometers for the Niegocińska Route, 41 kilometers for the green route plus 20 kilometers for the additional section, and 69 kilometers for the red cycling route. Before setting out on the routes explicitly identified as cycling routes, check the current signage and trail conditions.

The Bogaczewiada

The Bogaczewiada is another part of the local event history. It has already been held for the 14th time at Bogaczewo’s communal beach and the adjacent sports field; it was described as one of the largest family picnics in Giżycko Municipality. If you want to plan a trip around the festival, check the current dates.
