Święta Katarzyna brings together several distinct themes for a stay: minerals and fossils at the museum, handicrafts, a chapel by the spring, and trails to Łysica and Bodzentyn. To plan your visit, you can first decide whether you want to devote most of your time to a museum visit, hiking, cycling or regional crafts. This focus will help you organise your interests and then look for hotels in Święta Katarzyna.

Take a closer look at minerals and fossils

At the Muzeum Minerałów i Skamieniałości, minerals are labelled with their names, chemical formulas, hardness and places of discovery. Fossil labels give the Polish and Latin names, as well as their geological age. The exhibition information therefore highlights different aspects: for minerals, it includes composition and place of discovery; for fossils, naming and chronological classification. Numerous panels, descriptions and photographs make the visit easier.

For individual visitors, the museum offers free polishing demonstrations and guided tours when a group of around ten people forms. If you want to plan specifically for one of these activities, check in advance whether it will be available during your visit. This lets you shape your museum visit not only around the exhibits, but also around your interest in a demonstration or guided tour.

A chapel, a summit and a longer walk

A wooden chapel in the folk style, dedicated to Saint Francis, stands by the spring. This combines a specific architectural feature with a religious dedication at the site. From the chapel, you can set off for Łysica, the highest peak in the Góry Świętokrzyskie. If you would rather take a longer walk, follow the blue trail markers to Bodzentyn. The two suggestions differ in their named destinations and in that one route is specifically described as longer.

Crafts and a cycling route

Galeria Rękodzieła offers ceramics, regional souvenirs and works by local artists. The offerings include ceramic jewellery, wooden toys, natural bee products, home decorations and personalised porcelain. This makes it possible to include an interest in regional handicrafts in your travel plans, alongside museums and trails. If you want to visit the gallery, check the current opening hours in advance.

Cycling is also listed as a separate option: “Rowerem przez Świętokrzyski Park Narodowy” begins and ends at a car park in Święta Katarzyna. The town is therefore both the starting point and the destination of the tour. If you include a cycling trip in your plans, you have a specific starting point and return destination, without conflating the cycling option with the hiking trails.
