Explore Rudzica through specific destinations: a trail leads to Kamień Rudzicki in the forest, a restored church more than 200 years old stands on Kopiec Rudzicki, and marked routes vary in length and difficulty. There are also recurring spring customs. You can plan your visit around different interests: a marked hike, a cultural site or an event in the local annual calendar. The destinations differ both in theme and in the type of route leading to them.
Forest Trails and Marked Routes
A signposted trail leads through the forest to Kamień Rudzicki from Leśna Street. There, you can learn about the history of the boulder. Check the trail signs before setting out.
The yellow-marked Trasa A is 13 km long and of moderate difficulty. It starts in Rudzica and runs via Międzyrzecze Górne to Mazańcowice. The red Trasa C is 17 km long and difficult; it starts in Grodziec and runs via Wieszczęta, Łazy, Rudzica and Iłownica to Landek. Trasa A is four kilometres shorter. The routes also differ in their connection to Rudzica: Trasa A starts in the village, while Trasa C passes through Rudzica. Along with distance and difficulty, you can therefore consider which starting point suits you best. Check the trail signs for your chosen route before setting out.
Churches, Chapel and Spring
The restored Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist, which is more than 200 years old, stands on Kopiec Rudzicki in Rudzica. The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Rudzica is a parish church. Its age, restoration and location on Kopiec offer specific points of interest for a visit focused on history.
Another destination is the chapel and spring in the Dolina Świętego Wendelina. Driving from Rudzica towards Strumień, a sign points right to a small car park. From there, a walk through the forest leads to the chapel and spring. The route therefore has two parts: the drive to the car park and the walk that follows. Unlike the route to Kamień Rudzicki, this approach begins with a drive towards Strumień and continues on foot through the forest.
Spring Customs
Dzień Stracha Polnego is held annually in late May in Rudzica, with a procession and a competition. Every year on 25 April, residents of the surrounding area pray for a good harvest at the chapel in Rudzica. The two events differ in timing and purpose: prayer is the focus in April, while late May brings the procession and competition. If you want to plan your trip around one of these events, check the date of the relevant edition before making your plans.
