Jabłonna offers two distinct highlights for an exploration trip: the blue Trasa Nadwiślańska through the Vistula and protected-area landscape, and the Palace Park with its historic trees. The riverbank and nature reserve are thus set against a park landscape also shaped by its historic buildings and cultural use.
The Trasa Nadwiślańska and the Vistula landscape
The blue Trasa Nadwiślańska is 15 kilometres long and runs mainly along the embankment on the right bank of the Vistula. It starts at the sand pit in Jabłonna, passes Jezioro Kiepura, and then enters the Ławice Kiełpińskie Nature Reserve. The reserve includes islands, sandbanks and the Vistula riverbank. The route therefore leads from the embankment, past the lake and into a protected area whose landscape is shaped by the Vistula. These waypoints give the route a clear focus on nature. Check current trail conditions before setting out.
The Palace Park as a distinct highlight
The 46-hectare English landscape park surrounds the palace. The park’s natural monuments include pedunculate oaks, small-leaved lime trees, wych elms, common ash trees, hornbeams, honey locusts, European larches, white poplars and Norway maples. The variety of tree species makes the collection a specific highlight for a visit to the park. As you walk through the grounds, you can focus both on the landscape park and on individual tree species.
Historic buildings and cultural use
Historic park buildings that have survived to this day include a grotto, an orangery and a Chinese pavilion. The educational trail in the Palace Park was originally established more than 20 years ago and later modernised. The palace and park complex currently serves as a conference and meeting centre for the Polish Academy of Sciences. Exhibitions are held in the orangery at the palace. The park, educational trail and historic buildings thus offer different points of interest within the complex.
Plan your visit and excursion
The Palace Park is open to all visitors. Tourist groups can visit the palace, underground rooms, park and orangery on a guided tour; advance booking is required. If you are planning a tour, check current availability directly with the palace. At the municipality level, nature-focused tourist routes can be explored on foot or by bicycle. The route and park visit therefore also differ in terms of planning: check trail conditions for the route, and arrange the group tour in advance. Also check the park’s current visiting conditions. Weekly parkrun events are also held in Jabłonna. If you are planning to take part, check the current schedule so you can plan the run for a suitable day of your visit.
