A stone viewing tower in the forest, a half-timbered church and a circular route around Lake Niesłysz give Mostki a variety of historical and scenic features. The palace and park complex is an important monument to 19th-century residential architecture. If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Mostki, you can plan your stay around architecture, fortress history or nature trails.

Architecture and History in Mostki

The palace park includes the forest along the route to Przełazy. There stands a stone viewing tower dating from around 1880. The half-timbered church in Mostki was built around 1832 and received a Neo-Gothic tower around the middle of the 19th century. The palace and park complex, tower and church each offer a distinct architectural feature; the church also has two distinct construction dates, one following the other.

The history of the community is also connected with Mostki: in 1657, a group of Arians expelled from Poland settled there. They founded a colony that belonged to the religious community in Lubrza. This chapter adds a specific historical link between Mostki and Lubrza to the history of the buildings.

The Lietzmann Fortification Group

Remains of the partially preserved Lietzmann Fortification Group can be seen in Mostki and the surrounding area. It is part of the Oder–Warthe-Bogen Fortified Front and comprises four bunkers built in the 1930s. The group was intended to defend the road, the railway line and the gap between the tactical canals. These structures and their intended purpose give fortress history a distinct focus alongside residential architecture and the church.

Routes to Lake Niesłysz

A nature and landscape trail leads south from Mostki to Lake Niesłysz. There is also a 24 km circular route starting in Mostki: it passes through Krzeczkowo, follows the lakeshore past the Zatoka Szary Kamień and Zatoka Borowska bays, and continues to Borów. From there, the route follows a local road to Ołobok and then runs along the Ołobok River to Niesulice. The lakeshore route continues towards Przełazy, passing the Zatoka Wodne Wcięcie and Zatoka Bogenza bays. The tour passes Lakes Czarne and Jeziorko (Złoty Potok) before following a green hiking trail back to Mostki.

Another option for planning your outings is a cycling route of about 29 km that passes through Mostki. It runs from Lubrza via Romanówek, Buczyna, Zagaje, Bucze and Mostki to Nowa Wioska and back to Lubrza. The nature routes therefore differ in destination and format: the trail leads to the lake, the circular route starts and ends in Mostki, and the cycling route connects several named places. Their distances also offer a useful point of comparison, although they are not like-for-like routes.

When choosing your stay, you can first consider whether you would like to focus mainly on architectural and community history or on one of the routes to Lake Niesłysz. This gives you a clear choice between the historic buildings and fortress remains on the one hand, and several nature and cycling routes with different itineraries on the other.
