Gorzów Wielkopolski, the local focal point within the broader Landsberg An Der Warthe destination, combines paths along the Warta with viewpoints, parks and a varied natural landscape. When planning, it is worth distinguishing between the different highlights: the riverside is all about walking and cycling paths, while the Gorzowskie Murawy nature reserve offers slopes, valleys and wide-ranging views. Paths along the Warta and Kłodawka
Since 2019, a foot and cycle path more than 700 metres long has been part of the “Szlak Stolic”. It connects the eastern section of the Bulwary nad Wartą with the area below the Lubuski Bridge. This provides a clearly defined stretch for anyone who wants to combine time by the river with a walk between the boulevard and the bridge area.
Another option is the Ścieżka nad Kłodawką. This foot and cycle path runs from the Kłodawka's confluence with the Warta to Chodkiewicza Street. Along the route are recreational areas with playgrounds, an outdoor fitness area and small squares. The eastern side of the Bulwary nad Wartą also has a bird aviary, a modern playground and a sundial. This allows you to include different paths and places to spend time by the water in your plans without treating them as a single route.
Views and walks
The observation pavilion on Kozacza Góra was built in 1909 and is part of Parku Siemiradzkiego. From there, the view stretches across the northwestern part of the city, including the cathedral and the Lubuski Urząd Wojewódzki. The pavilion is a popular destination for walkers. If you would like to include a viewpoint as well as a riverside walk, this offers a different experience from the paths along the Warta and Kłodawka.
Gorzowskie Murawy: hills and wide-ranging views
The Gorzowskie Murawy nature reserve lies in the western part of the city and covers almost 80 hectares. Walking paths lead through slopes and valleys with diverse vegetation. The landscape includes sandy dunes, heathland, forest and pine woods; the scenic hills offer wide-ranging views of the city or the Warta Valley. This makes the protected area a very different landscape from the landscaped recreational areas along the Bulwary.

In the Old Market Square in Gorzów Wielkopolski, plaques set into the paving of the Gorzówer Aleja Gwiazd commemorate artists and cultural figures from the city who have passed away. The historic white Spichlerz is a three-storey half-timbered building dating from 1723. The two places offer different highlights: a tribute to cultural figures on the one hand, and a historic building with distinctive architecture on the other.
The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a brick building dating from the 13th century. Beside it, in the Old Market Square, stands the fountain named after Hermann Paucksch. The Miejski Ośrodek Sztuki offers exhibitions and an art-house cinema for contemporary art and film. The parks also each have their own character: Park Kopernika occupies the site of a former municipal cemetery and preserves an evangelical chapel from the late 19th century. Park Czechówek is distinguished by its woodland character and a pond fed by spring water.
