Okuninka on Lake Białe is a popular holiday resort. Across the country, the place is also known as “polska Ibiza” and “perła Lubelszczyzny.” During the summer holidays, several tens of thousands of holidaymakers and tourists may be there at the same time. This approximate seasonal scale is not a forecast for specific travel dates.

Swimming and water sports on Lake Białe

There are three municipal bathing areas on Lake Białe near Okuninka, supervised during the summer season. In central Okuninka, kayak, pedal boat and SUP board rentals for activities on the lake are announced for the 2026 season. Check the seasonal rental dates before your visit. Diving equipment is also available for rent in the surrounding area of Lake Białe. There are inflatable water parks for children.

For planning your day, swimming and watercraft are different options on the lake: the bathing areas are supervised during the summer season, while kayak, pedal boat and SUP board rentals are announced for 2026. The type of movement is another difference when choosing what to do on the water: kayaks and SUP boards are paddled, while pedal boats are propelled by pedals.

Cycling and getting oriented locally

The tourist information office is in the centre of the resort, by its main beach. There you can get free travel guides, maps and brochures about the Lublin region; other materials are available for a fee. Bikes are also available to rent at the tourist information office. Rental bikes can be returned at two locations in Włodawa: at the tourist information office at ul. Partyzantów 25 and at MOSiR at ul. Szkolna 4. Check current rental arrangements before relying on the return options.

The red-marked “Stykiem granic” cycling route passes through Okuninka, the Sobiborski Landscape Park, the Jezioro Orchowe nature reserve and Dubnik at the Poland–Ukraine–Belarus tripoint. The 26 km route follows the Bug River and is equipped along its length with twelve information boards, rest shelters and an observation tower. A yellow-marked, 32 km cycling route section connects Okuninka with Wola Uhruska. The route opened in summer 2001; check current trail conditions before setting out.

For comparison, consider the length and route: 26 km along the Bug and through the named natural areas, or 32 km connecting to Wola Uhruska. These offer two distinct route profiles to help with orientation, though the length alone does not determine the character of the ride.

Other leisure activities

Okuninka has three paintball fields. A paintball game lasts two hours; calling in advance is requested. In a leisure park, the main attraction is a two-hectare maze. After making their way through it and finding the complete map, visitors can enjoy free activities: shooting with a plush slingshot, a bow or a paintball gun. Access is seasonal; 12 July was given as the opening date for 2026.

The planning details for these activities also differ: a paintball game is scheduled for two hours, whereas the maze involves first finding your way through it and locating the complete map. The leisure park’s seasonal opening is another factor to consider when planning your visit.
