Boguszów-Gorce offers several distinct points of interest for a stay: the town hall, with its municipal function and listed status; religious sites; observation towers; and trails. Seasonal activities at Dzikowiec round out the picture. If you are looking for a hotel in Boguszów-Gorce, you could start by considering which of these interests you want to shape your trip.
Getting There and the Town’s History
Three railway stations are relevant when planning your journey: Boguszów-Gorce, Boguszów-Gorce Wschód and Boguszów-Gorce Zachód are on the Wrocław–Jelenia Góra line. There is also the Boguszów-Gorce Dzikowiec stop on line 291 to Adršpach. Train connections and routes can change, so check the current timetable before travelling.
The town hall was entered in the register of historic monuments in 1976 and is the seat of the municipal administration. Its listed status and municipal function come together in one specific building. In 2023, a station on the International St. Adalbert Route was ceremonially opened at Plac Odrodzenia. Another route with a religious character is the Way of the Cross of Mining Toil: since 2001, it has led from Boguszów along a tourist trail to the Millennium Cross. Its 14 stations consist of granite plaques.
The two routes have different focuses: Plac Odrodzenia is notable for the opening of a station in 2023, while the Way of the Cross is a route made up of 14 stations. The town hall adds a historic building that also serves as the seat of the municipal administration.
Observation Towers and Practical Information
The OSR Dzikowiec complex includes a service building with a restaurant and a 20-metre-high observation tower at the upper station of the lift. This is separate from the 38.5-metre-high observation tower on Dzikowiec. It opened in 2025, and its viewing platform is 32.5 metres above the ground. The two observation structures at Dzikowiec, with their different dimensions and locations, are distinct features.
The observation tower on Dzikowiec is open year-round. In winter, watch out for icy conditions; it must not be entered in adverse weather, such as strong winds. Check local notices before your visit, as access information may change. The headframe of Szyb Witold also serves as an observation tower today. It takes 117 steps to reach the viewpoint.
Trails and Seasonal Activities
Dzikowiec Wielki lies about 3.4 kilometres south of the town centre. In summer, it is a destination for hiking and cycling; downhill biking and paragliding are also available there. In winter, there is a ski slope suitable for experienced skiers as well as beginners. The activities therefore vary with the season.
A longer trail option in the municipality is the 50-kilometre Jubilee Trail. It is a circular route that can be walked in either direction and started or ended at any point. The route passes through Mniszek, Chełmiec and Dzikowiec, as well as all the districts of Boguszów-Gorce. Its circular layout and flexible start and end points set it apart from the seasonal activities described at Dzikowiec.
In the area around the destination, Chełmiec is home to a stone observation tower commissioned by the Hochbergs in 1887–1888. The 22-metre-high tower is designed as a ruin with an inn and mountain hut. Together with the viewpoints in Boguszów-Gorce, it adds to the range of towers and historic structures in the surrounding area.
When choosing a hotel in Boguszów-Gorce, it helps to decide what matters most to you: town history and trail stations, views or outdoor activities. This makes it easier to choose the destination based on the experiences that matter for your stay.
