Town hall history, church architecture and specific routes give a stay in Lubawka a range of possible focuses. Its architectural history stretches from the late Baroque town hall to a parish church with origins in the 15th century; routes lead from the town centre to the Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve. When planning, you can choose between the town’s buildings and tours with clearly defined stages.

The Town Hall and Its Construction Phases

The town hall is a late Baroque building with Neoclassical features and a Neo-Gothic tower. It was built in 1726 on the foundations of an older building. Less than ten years later, it burned down completely; it was enlarged during reconstruction. In 1784, a tower with a spire was added to the building. The town hall was extended in the second half of the 19th century. This building brings together a range of stylistic features and several historical construction phases. It is considered a representative example of a modern-era public building in Silesia.

Churches with Different Histories

The parish Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a multi-phase hall church whose origins date back to the 15th century. Gothic elements remain visible even after its Baroque renovation. The Church of the Fourteen Holy Helpers is directly connected to the Abbot’s Palace, built in 1626. Those interested in historical architectural styles will find in Lubawka both a church with visible elements from different periods and a direct connection between a church and a palace.

Nordic Walking to the Nature Reserve

The Nordic walking route begins in the town centre and leads to the foot of Święta Góra. It continues via Podlesie and Rozdroże Trzech Buków to the Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve; from there, the route heads back to the town centre across fields. So the nature reserve is not the end of the loop: the return across the fields is also part of the route described. Check local trail conditions before setting out.

Graniczna MTB Trail

The Graniczna MTB Trail is 34.4 kilometres long and includes some very difficult sections. The start and finish are at the stadium in Lubawka. Between them, the route passes through the Kruczy Kamień Nature Reserve to Okrzeszyn and Uniemyśl, then returns to the stadium via Rozdroże Trzech Buków. The difficult sections should be taken into account when deciding whether to ride the route. Check the current trail markings and conditions before setting out.

The Święta Góra Trail and the Ski Lift

The green-marked Święta Góra Trail begins and ends at the lower station of the drag lift in Lubawka. The ski lift is located on the north slope of Święta Góra, which is 701 metres above sea level. It is 2 kilometres east of the town centre, on the road from Lubawka to Krzeszów. If you plan to use the lift, check its current operating and access conditions beforehand. It is also advisable to check local conditions before setting out on the Święta Góra Trail.
