Kluszkowce lies in the valley of the Kluszkowianka stream, on the southwestern slopes of Lubań, at an elevation of 530 to 600 metres. The Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn is located on the Stylchyn peninsula in Kluszkowce. This open-air tourist complex has 31 architectural structures, including 9 historic wooden guesthouses and villas, 11 rural farmhouses and outbuildings, and 11 stone cellars with wooden upper structures. The different types of buildings give the complex its distinctive architectural character.
The Wąwóz Papieski offers another historical perspective. The gorge commemorates a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Wojtyła on a meadow in front of its entrance on 9 July 1978, during a spiritual retreat organised by the Światło–Życie Movement. An educational nature trail also runs through the gorge, following the route of an old andesite quarry. Here, nature education and quarry history come together, while the religious remembrance has its own clearly identified point of reference.
Trails with Different Highlights
A hiking trail leads from Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn via Jaworzyny Ochotnickie to Lubań. The route is 8.7 kilometres long and takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes to walk. You can use the distance and approximate walking time to plan your day. Trail conditions and markings may change, so check the route before setting out.
The Modrzewie nature and forest educational trail offers a different experience. Its facilities include viewing terraces, shelters and maps showing the route and the nature of the reserve. Additional access points are on Leśna and Modrzewiowa streets in Kluszkowce. Modrzewie combines maps of the route and the reserve’s nature with viewing terraces and shelters; the route to Lubań can be planned according to its length and approximate walking time. More Activities in Kluszkowce
On Góra Wdżar, a 1,000-metre-long Roller-Coaster-type summer toboggan run is available. A description dated 22 December 2021 gives this length; check in advance whether the ride is currently operating. At the ski area in Kluszkowce, three lifts take visitors up the slope in five minutes. As lift facilities may change, check current operations before a day of skiing.
The marina of the Podhalańskie Towarzystwo Żeglarskie in Kluszkowce has floating piers where sailing boats and motorboats can moor. A description dated 22 December 2021 places a bacówka next to the marina, where Oscypek and other regional cheeses are sold. Check before visiting whether they are still available for sale.
Pieniński Wypas Kulturowy is also part of the local culture. The event marks the end of the grazing season and celebrates traditions, music and regional flavours.
