Grzebienisko combines shooting tradition with memorial sites and an agricultural exhibition. The Kurkowe Bractwo Strzeleckie holds an annual Pentecost shooting competition; a memorial plaque and a monument add other historical points of interest. An exhibition of agricultural machinery is also located in the eastern part of the village. If you are looking for a holiday apartment for your stay, first decide which theme you would like to focus on during your visit. If you have specific plans, it is worth checking access arrangements in advance.

Shooting tradition and Pentecost

The Kurkowe Bractwo Strzeleckie holds an annual Pentecost shooting competition in Grzebienisko. It has also maintained a partnership with shooters from FaĂźberg for more than 25 years. Together, they combine an annual event with a long-standing exchange. If you would like to plan your trip specifically around Pentecost, check in advance whether guests are able to participate. The Kurkowego Bractwa Strzeleckiego Museum and a shooting range are also located in Grzebienisko. In addition to the recurring club event, the local shooting theme therefore includes a museum and another local facility.

Memorial plaque and monument

The memory of Józef Gibowski is also present in Grzebienisko. A memorial plaque to him is set into the rebuilt newer part of the local school. Gibowski was headmaster until 1925 and a political activist; he was shot by the Germans in 1939. A monument to the Greater Poland insurgents was unveiled in front of the Kurkowego Bractwa Strzeleckiego building on 1 September 2018. The two memorial sites have different focuses: the plaque commemorates one person and his professional and political life, while the monument commemorates the Greater Poland insurgents. This offers a way to explore the village’s history through both an individual biography and a shared act of remembrance.

Agricultural exhibition

An exhibition of agricultural machinery is located in the eastern part of Grzebienisko, next to the buildings of the Kurkowego Bractwa Strzeleckiego. The small agricultural exhibition includes a preserved and painted steam tractor from the interwar period. It offers a tangible point of interest if you are interested in agriculture: the exhibition’s theme is brought to life through a single vehicle from a specific period. This focus differs from the memorial sites and shooting tradition.
