You can explore Pakosław through its honey and architecture, as well as its varied cycling routes. The Neoclassical palace, the Church of St. Valentine and the Żywe Muzeum Miodu each add their own distinctive touch. The routes range from a 15-kilometre loop through the municipality to trails that pass through several towns and municipalities. If you are looking for accommodation for a stay in Pakosław, you can first decide whether honey, architectural history or cycling is your main focus.

Experience honey

The Żywe Muzeum Miodu at the Pasieka Smakulskich apiary, ul. 40-lecia 9, brings honey to life through tastings and workshops. At events, participants can taste honey, bee pollen and bee bread; information about allergens is also provided for the tastings. In summer workshops, participants learn about the history and production process of honey, make honey themselves and receive a jar of their own. Under sanitary regulations, this jar is not considered a food product. Tastings are held as part of events, while the workshops take place in summer. Check the specific dates in advance if you plan to take part in either format.

Palace and architectural history

The Neoclassical palace is set in an expansive park. It was probably built between 1792 and 1794; the design is thought to be by Karol Gothard Langhans. The Column Hall contains four bas-reliefs faithfully based on engravings by Franciszek Śmuglewicz from 1789 to 1791. The dates of the engravings refer to the source images for the reliefs, while 1792 to 1794 is the palace's probable construction period. The palace thus brings together a cautiously attributed architectural history and a precisely identified feature of its interior.

Church and memorial site

The Church of St. Valentine was built in the Neo-Gothic style from 1896 to 1899. It houses a historic sculpture of St. Valentine from the previous church. Beside the church, opposite the main gate, stands a monument to the victims of the First World War, the Greater Poland Uprising and the Second World War. The construction period, older religious furnishing and commemoration of three conflicts are closely connected here in a single local setting.

Cycling routes around Pakosław

The Rowerowy Szlak Miodowy starts in Pakosław in a car park beside the municipal tourist map and heads towards Ostrobudek. After the start, it follows Rolnicza Street and the Pakosław–Góreczki Wielkie district road. The 15-kilometre loop runs through the municipality of Pakosław.

Other routes take a different geographical focus. The Wielkopolski Szlak Wiatraczny passes through Pakosław and continues via Sowy, Szkaradowo, Dubin and Jutrosin towards Smolice and Kobylin. The Szlak Rajdu Konnego runs through seven municipalities, including the municipality of Pakosław. To help you choose, you can distinguish the honey route—a 15-kilometre loop within the municipality—from routes that pass through several named towns or municipalities.
