Rokietnica brings together several distinct themes: architectural and art history, surviving park trees, a green space with recreational facilities, and the local soup Rumpuć. When planning your trip, it is worth arranging these highlights according to your interests. The church and manor house offer different historical connections; Polana Rumpuciowa has paths and facilities for exercise and play, while Rumpuć is associated with its own event.

Church: Construction Period and Works of Art

The Church of Christ the King of the Universe in Rokietnica was built around 1890 by the Evangelical congregation. It features contemporary paintings of Christ the King of the Universe, as well as Stations of the Cross by Wanda Gałczyńska. These represent two distinct artistic references: paintings depicting Christ as King of the Universe and a Stations of the Cross cycle by the artist. The church is listed in the register of historic monuments under number 2622/A.

Manor House and Landscape Park

The manor house in Rokietnica was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Several trees from a landscape park, also established at the beginning of the 19th century, have survived around the former manor house. Some of these trees have a trunk circumference of more than three metres. This site thus brings together architecture and surviving parkland. The circumference figure refers to individual trees and gives an idea of their size.

Paths and Recreation at Polana Rumpuciowa

Polana Rumpuciowa is a green space with paths. The area also has a skatepark and a pump track, as well as a playground and a street workout zone. The paths offer a different focus from the more specialised sports and play facilities. If you plan to use one of the facilities, please check its current operating status before your visit.

Rumpuć as a Culinary Occasion

At the event “Rokietnica zaprasza Wielkopolan na rumpuć” (“Rokietnica invites the people of Wielkopolska to Rumpuć”), the focus is on tasting Rumpuć soup. The soup is associated with Rokietnica and is included in the list of traditional products maintained by the Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The event has been held for many years, and its 19th edition took place. If you would like to make the tasting the occasion for your trip, check the currently announced event dates in advance.

Railway Buildings and Getting There

The Rokietnica railway complex includes a brick station building dating from around 1880 and a brick water tower built in 1914. The station building is therefore dated approximately, while a specific construction year is given for the water tower. The railway complex adds historic railway buildings to the themes of the church and manor house.

There is another aspect to consider when planning your trip: the interchange hub built in Rokietnica is intended to make use of the potential of integrated public transport, cycling and rail. If you plan to arrive by public transport, check current connections before travelling.

Tailor Your Stay

The historic buildings connect your stay with local and art history; Polana focuses on green space and recreational facilities. A trip to taste Rumpuć, by contrast, depends on current event dates. Before booking, decide which of these themes you want to shape your stay around, and check the event dates if you are planning to attend.
