Mosina combines a specific cycling route with a distinctive town centre and landscapes on the outskirts. The Łącznikowy Szlak Rowerowy runs from Poznań via Luboń and Puszczykowo to Mosina’s Market Square. It also connects the town with a section of the Pierścień Rowerowy Dookoła Poznania. If you want to combine a cycling route with a visit to a town, the Market Square is a clearly named endpoint.

Landscape, Trails and Glinianki

Protected landscapes extend to the edge of Mosina: both Wielkopolski National Park and Rogaliński Landscape Park. In the area surrounding the destination, Wielkopolski National Park has 18 areas under strict protection. These details give the landscape around Mosina a distinct place alongside the town’s attractions.

Glinianki is a special place for relaxation: the flooded former clay pits now form a green recreational area. A signposted footpath leads from the car park to an observation tower. Information boards cover glacial landforms, fauna and flora. Swimming and relaxation are among the seasonal activities available there. At Glinianki, a specific route with a viewpoint and nature-related topics is thus complemented by seasonal use of the waterside.

Town History and Art

The preserved medieval town layout is evident in a centrally located, square Market Square and the narrow streets leading off it. St Nicholas Church tells the story of a later phase of construction: it was built from 1952 to 1954 on the foundations of an earlier stone church dating from 1905. Its modern interior includes polychrome paintings by Ewa Buczyńska and Walenty Gabrysiak, as well as stained-glass windows by Edmund Hałas.

Galeria Sztuki also links art with Mosina’s architectural history. It is housed in a historic building that was formerly a Jewish synagogue, built around 1876. The gallery exhibits painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, textiles, installations, new media and animated films. In the same building, Galeria Historyczna, also known as Galeria na Piętrze, periodically hosts historical exhibitions about Ziemia Mosińska, as well as photography and art exhibitions.

Other distinctive sights include Obrabad, a brick building with a tall tower visible from the Mosiński Canal. The mural “Tam, gdzie ptaki śpiewają…” was unveiled on 24 May on the wall of the town hall in Mosina. A local legend traces the origins of “Elegant z Mosiny” to local tailoring workshops. The tourist quest “Mosina w XIX wieku”, created by pupils from Primary School No. 2 in Mosina, offers another way to explore the town’s history.
