The Christmas Battles Museum features a reconstructed section of the German first defensive line, unique in the Baltics. A 7.2-kilometre exploration trail through the sites of the Christmas Battles starts and ends at the museum. These two features offer different ways to engage with history: part of the defensive line has been reconstructed at the museum, while the trail connects the battle sites along a single route.

River and Landscape

Eleja Manor Park also complements its historical insights with specific features of the grounds. Historic paths have been restored, a bridge to a peninsula in the pond has been built, and interactive environmental objects have been installed. Tea tastings are available at the Eleja Tea House for an additional fee—a practical detail to keep in mind when planning a tasting during your visit.

Nature, Parks and Collections

Guided tours with playful educational elements about rare and specially protected plant and animal species are offered in Vilce Nature Park. Their focus is on introducing visitors to these species. This is different from the historical exhibitions at Vilce Manor: here the focus is on nature, while the manor features the history of the school and other historical topics.

There are 12 disc golf baskets spread across the grounds of Vilce Manor Park. Disc golf discs can be rented by calling the Vilce Tourist Information Point in advance. Nākotnes Park takes a different approach, featuring vintage items, old aircraft and a collection of retro motorcycles. Jelgava Municipality therefore offers guided nature education, a specific recreational activity and a collection of historic objects as distinct experiences.
