The sanatorium in Bereznyaki combines a range of treatments with landscaped grounds. If you are considering the location for a trip, it is worth looking separately at the treatments you want, the facilities and the seasonal surroundings: these aspects shape different parts of a stay.
Treatments and Facilities
The treatments on offer include physiotherapy, mud treatments, water treatments, massages and SPA programmes, as well as rehabilitation for conditions affecting the nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory tract and other conditions. If you are travelling for a specific treatment, confirm directly with the sanatorium that it is available before booking. This way, you can base your choice on the treatments relevant to your trip.
Facilities include a swimming pool, sports grounds, a fitness room and water aerobics, as well as parking and a transfer service. There is also a children’s playroom, Wi-Fi and meals. The facilities cover a range of practical needs: exercise and sports alongside transport services and meals. Facilities and services may change; check directly with the sanatorium before travelling about the details that matter to you.
Grounds and Location
The sanatorium is described as a rural health resort in park-like woodland, away from noise and industry. Coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs grow on the grounds, along with a birch grove, a pond and seasonal flower beds. The grounds are described as a landscaped natural setting for visits in both winter and summer. Plant life and its condition may vary by season, particularly in the flower beds.
As a rough guide, the sanatorium is about 50 km from Karaganda and 170 km from Astana. These figures are not calculated route distances. They help put the location in context but do not replace planning a specific route for your journey.
Nature in the Wider Qaraghandy Destination
The wider Qaraghandy destination also includes natural attractions with a different focus from a stay at the sanatorium. Lake Basin in Karkaraly National Park can only be reached on foot via the “Stone Fairy Tales” route. Check the walking time and seasonal route conditions before setting out. In the wider Qaraghandy destination, the ascent from the Torkora tract to the summit of Aksoran is about 3.4 km long, with an elevation gain of approximately 560–600 m. Before hiking there, check the mountain conditions and trail markings.
The Three Caves are in the Maliksay tract in Karkaraly National Park, about 3 km from Karkaraly. They form a small granite canyon with three entrances to an underground area, a stream and sparsely pine-covered slopes. While the walk to Lake Basin is an important detail for planning, the granite formations and their three entrances define the natural landscape of the caves.
