Adi combines hands-on craft activities with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. At the boutique bakery, in a glassmaking workshop, and through games or treasure hunts, a range of activities take center stage in the village. A mountain bike singletrack also leads from Adi; nearby, you can walk in the adjoining communal forest. When planning your visit, consider whether you would rather spend your time on a pre-arranged craft experience, cycling, or a walk.

Experiences and Outdoor Activities in Adi

At the boutique bakery “הלחם של רוני- אמנות במחמצת,” visitors can take part in an introduction to baking with hands-on experience or attend a workshop. Visits are arranged with the provider. If you plan to take part, arrange your visit in advance rather than expecting to drop in spontaneously.

At רחלי לילה’s studio, visitors can make their own glass jewelry in a workshop. This adds another hands-on craft activity to the bakery experience. Contact the studio to make arrangements.

The company “גיבושטח” offers orienteering games and treasure hunts in Adi. Confirm availability before your visit. These activities have a different focus from the craft workshops: they center on navigating and searching together.

For outdoor activity, two different options from Adi can be part of your plans: a mountain bike singletrack and walks in the adjoining communal forest, which lies near the village. This lets you choose between cycling and a walk according to your interests, without treating them as the same experience.

Archaeological Highlights in the Wider Destination of the Northern District

The Northern District also offers its own archaeological highlights, particularly Tel Hazor and Tel Megiddo. The two sites showcase different aspects of ancient urban history and religious practice. Tel Hazor includes remains of fortifications, a palace and a water system; Tel Megiddo offers insights into temple complexes and urban planning, among other things. These regional highlights complement the craft and nature activities that take center stage in Adi itself.

A visit to Tel Hazor focuses on the Upper City. Its structures include Solomon’s Gate, with six chambers and two towers dating to the 10th century BCE. The Canaanite palace was used by the kings of Hazor in the 14th and 13th centuries BCE. The Late Bronze Age palace is considered the most elaborate in Israel and one of the most significant in the Levant. Tel Hazor’s fortifications are also noteworthy: they are considered the finest example of their kind in the area stretching from southern Turkey to the northern Negev.

Another highlight at Tel Hazor is the underground water collection system, an advanced engineering achievement adapted to the geography and designed to store water. The excavated shaft is 45 meters deep, with three-meter-wide steps cut into the walls of the vertical shaft. Visitors interested in architectural history can see a gate and a palace, as well as a water supply system. Tel Hazor National Park can be reached from the north and south via Route 90 toward Ayelet Hashahar. Check your navigation before setting out.

Tel Megiddo is one of three tells that preserve significant remains of cities with biblical associations and are closely connected with events in the Bible. The Early Bronze Age temple complex is exceptional for the number of its temples, the continuity of its cult practices and its documented ritual activities. Tel Megiddo’s orthogonal city plan dates to the Iron Age and has few parallels in the Levant. The regional sites therefore offer different points of interest: Tel Hazor features, among other things, fortifications, a palace and a water system, while Tel Megiddo is notable for its temples and city plan.
