Three different visitor experiences take center stage in Lábatlan: the interactive “Zöld Jövő Kiállítás” exhibition, canoe and dragon boat tours on the Danube, and a group offering at Gerenday-Kert. The options range from a hands-on exhibition to a water-based activity and a culinary group experience. Which of these shapes your stay depends on whether you would rather explore exhibits, arrange a tour, or plan shared catering for a group.

Exhibition, Danube and group experience

The “Zöld Jövő Kiállítás” invites visitors to do more than just look: they can view, touch and press the exhibits. The collection includes real mammoth teeth. The visit combines looking with direct engagement with the exhibits, while the mammoth teeth give the exhibition theme a tangible focus. If you plan to include this activity, check the latest visitor information before your trip.

The Dunamente Ökocentrum offers canoe and dragon boat tours on the Danube in cooperation with the Lábatlani Sirályok Vízisport Egyesület. Rowing activities must be arranged in advance. These two named tour options give you a concrete choice for a water-based activity; be sure to arrange it with the provider before adding it firmly to your stay.

For group events at Gerenday-Kert, fresh sandwiches, light meals, fruit and soft drinks are provided. The picnic is offered as a bookable group experience. This lets you include catering as part of a shared group program. The offering has a different focus from the exhibition or tours on the Danube: it combines a visit to the garden with a culinary experience for groups.

More attractions in the wider Komorn-Gran destination

In the wider Komorn-Gran destination, the Gerecsei Tájvédelmi Körzet offers a landscape and geological focus. This individually designated landscape protection area is significant nationwide, is located in Komárom-Esztergom, and covers 8,676 hectares. Triassic limestone predominates in the Gerecse; Jurassic limestone is also found there and is particularly rich in fossils. This offers a different thematic perspective from the exhibitions and group activities in Lábatlan.

The Majki Kamalduli Remeteség is a Baroque monument complex with seventeen hermit houses, a church tower and a monastery. An exhibition covers the general and Hungarian history of the Camaldolese order. The Remeteség is open Tuesday to Sunday: from 1 April to 31 October, 10:00–18:00, and from 1 November to 31 March, 09:00–17:00. As opening hours may change, check them before planning a visit.

At the Brigetio Öröksége Látogatóközpont, an interactive permanent archaeological exhibition presents finds from the excavations at Brigetio. The Monostori Erőd offers a different historical perspective: it is a military monument within the Komárom fortress system. Exhibitions and staged scenes illustrate the periods of the monarchy, the world wars and the Soviet occupation. The fortress system lies within the territory of both Komároms and is on UNESCO’s tentative World Heritage List.

A guided visit to the Bábolna Nemzeti Ménesbirtok begins with an exhibition on the history of the stud farm and continues in the Ménesudvar. The offering includes horse-drawn carriage rides to the nearby arboretum in two carriages drawn by Shagya-Arab mares; advance booking is required. The “Fogat bemutató, ménfelvezetés” program presents four-, five- and two-horse teams. Visitors can try these historic modes of transport themselves.
