Tiszanána offers several ways to enjoy a stay by the water and explore local history. At Dinnyéshát Beach, the sandy shore and calm, gradually deepening water shape the landscape; the Reformed Church offers a different point of interest. You can choose between different interests, from the beach and water tours to architectural history.

Beach, Harbour and Water Tours

Álompart is located in the Dinnyéshát area of Tiszanána, below the flood protection embankment and in a sheltered bay. Dinnyéshát Beach has calm water that gradually deepens, as well as a sandy shore. Kayaks and pedal boats are rented in the beach area; availability may vary by season. If you plan to use one of these services, check availability in advance for your travel dates.

A small lookout point beside the main branch of the Tisza overlooks the harbour, beach, river and passing boats. Tiszanána harbour can accommodate and store many new boats.

In August 2025, water tours in the Abádszalók Basin were listed as covering routes of about 12 to 14 kilometres and around 20 kilometres. Tiszanána-Dinnyéshát serves as a starting point for exploring the basin. Dinnyéshát is also considered a possible starting point for half- and full-day water tours; route conditions and seasonal access may vary. The distances make it possible to compare route lengths, while half-day and full-day indicate the tours’ time frames.

The Tiszaderzs–Tiszanána ferry crossing was listed in 2024 as covering about five kilometres and taking around half an hour. The duration may depend on operating conditions; check current crossing information before planning. Unlike the water tours described above, this crossing is specified by both distance and approximate travel time.

Strict rules on nature conservation, water management and fishing apply in the protected areas of Lake Tisza. Take these requirements into account when planning activities in the protected areas.

Church and Local History

Tiszanána’s present-day Reformed Church was built in 1752 in the Baroque style. Its western tower is 31 metres high; the main façade and tower have been fully restored. Its construction date, architectural style and tower dimensions provide concrete points of reference.

János and Ferenc Balla decided to build a chapel in the village cemetery in memory of their brother József. The two stories have different points of emphasis: the church is associated with a known construction date and Baroque style, while the chapel centres on the family’s decision to commemorate their brother. In this way, architectural history and family remembrance offer two complementary perspectives on the place.

In the wider destination of Heves County, the Hevesi Füves Puszták Landscape Protection Area lies in the southern part of Heves County. It covers 16,114 hectares and was designated in 1993; following expansions in 2005 and 2008, it reached its present extent.

In the wider destination of Heves County, the 6.5-kilometre Ilona Valley Nature Trail follows the Ilona Stream past the geological features of the Eastern Mátra Mountains and evidence of earlier ore mining. Geology and former mining activities offer a different focus there from the water tours in Tiszanána.
