The Rekettye Nature Trail in Ágasegyháza

The Rekettye Nature Trail gives visitors to Ágasegyháza a specific point of interest for a stay focused on hiking. Its starting point can be reached from the center via Kossuth Lajos Street; the paved road later becomes a dirt track. A significant section of the trail follows the red-marked hiking route that passes through Ágasegyháza. This provides clear directions both to the starting point and to the marker for an important section.

In Tiszaalpár, various attractions explore historical themes in different ways. The Tiszaalpár, Földvár Nature Trail presents the history of the Bronze Age Tiszaalpár Földvár fortification and the way of life of people in the Bronze Age. Tiszaalpár Földvár is a specially protected archaeological site in Bács-Kiskun; it was designated as such under Decree 3/2003. (I. 25.) NKÖM. A reconstruction of an Árpád-era village, built in Tiszaalpár to mark the millennium, depicts the settlement structure discovered during local excavations. The nature trail therefore covers a Bronze Age fortification and way of life, while the reconstruction shows a settlement structure from the Árpád era.

At the Kiskunhalasi Csipkeház and Lace Museum, visitors can learn about the history of Halas lace, which began in 1902, admire lacework dating back centuries, and see the lace-making process. The focus here is on the development of lace, the works themselves, and how they are made. This craft offers a different cultural focus from the archaeological themes in Tiszaalpár.

The Természet Háza in Kecskemét is the visitor center for Kiskunság National Park. It provides information about the park’s nature trails, visiting conditions for protected areas, the national park’s ecotourism programs, and its forest schools. Cifrapalota currently serves as an exhibition venue for the Kecskeméti Katona József Museum. Thus, the wider Bács-Kiskun destination offers both information about nature park attractions and a specific museum exhibition venue.

The nature trails differ in focus: the Boróka Nature Trail in Bugac is 1,100 meters long and features information panels and activity stations, such as a forest xylophone and a toy telescope. The blue-green algae trail at Lake Szelidi explores the lake’s development, the characteristics of its water, the organisms living there, and the surrounding wildlife through twelve information stations. The lake is a natural oxbow that developed from a branch of the Danube after the Ice Age. The blue-green algae trail is accessible on foot and by bicycle year-round; however, local conditions may change, so check before visiting. The Boróka Nature Trail emphasizes its length and activity stations, while the trail at Lake Szelidi features twelve information points and their topics.

The directions to the Pásztormúzeum are also specific: from the Puszta Kapuja Information Center, a dirt track leads there on foot over a distance of about 1.5 km.
