The early Christian cemetery of Agios Onoufrios lies on Agios Nikolaos Hill. The site is carved entirely into Poros rock and comprises six burial chambers. Access to Methoni Castle is via a stone bridge with 14 arches. It replaced an older wooden bridge. Its history is thus distinct from the architectural details of the castle, even though both contribute to Methóni’s historical character.
